Paul Shuler's Online Review Report Card

This place is nothing but money hungry. They’re trying to squeeze any penny they can out of us, when the insurance says we shouldnt be paying anything else. Wish I could give you 0 stars. Anyways, good luck to anyone coming to this place. Id suggest looking elsewhere for treatment. ****editing my comment to respond to your reply**** I was not the patient. My neighbor was the patient. I was taking her here because she didn’t speak much English and I was her only mode of transportation. Your staff is rude, in particular the short blonde girl who spoke with an attitude whenever I had a question to ask. It’s not defamation, it’s an actual experience we had here and any future clients should be made aware.

Though surgery took a little longer and was a bit more than I expected. I must say Dr. Shuler did an amazing job repairing my torn labrum. Had no major pain or problems. Incisions healing beautifully. I would recommend Dr. Shuler for any orthopedic surgical needs you may have. Thank you Dr. Shuler, See ya soon.

Absolutely Awesome staff and doctor. Best bed side manner I’ve seen. Thank you. I would definitely recommend this office. They are definitely a great office and 5 stars in my book.

(edited to add additional comments below) So, before whoever manages this Google account replies to this with an all caps and unprofessional "YOU ARE NOT OUR PATIENT" comment, I'll start by saying no, we are not your patient. But in the words of the orthopedic surgeon we DID end up choosing "thank God you didn't end up on Shulers table" My spouse had a broken leg. After being referred to Paul Shuler, we made an appointment to see if surgery was required. At the appointment Paul never showed up. Instead, we were seen by a nursing assistant. The assistant told us we would have to reschedule for the following week. Later on that day we received a phone call from the same nursing assistant informing us that my spouse needed surgery and we needed to get it done ASAP. After checking the Google reviews, along with Good Doctors reviews, we felt we were better off going with an orthopedic surgeon that had a higher rating than 3 stars. And thank goodness we did. The new orthopedic surgeon recommended we get a CT scan first, to see if there is any further damage that the X-rays may have missed (something Paul Shuler never recommended) and it turns out there was a hairline fracture in my spouses ankle that never would have been caught during the rushed process to get my spouse on an operating table. Please, do yourself a favor and think about it this way: would you want to eat at a restaurant that has 3 stars? No,of course you wouldn't. Well, then why in the world would you go to a surgeon that had 3 stars. *UPDATE* To directly address your response; he did in fact schedule surgery, for the very next day. And he did *not* in fact see my spouse at ANY point and did not order ANY additional screening or tests. Which, again, is important because he would have completely missed the hairline fracture in the ankle that the CT scan ordered by surgeon we did decide to go with.

Thank you to Dr Shuler and his competent and personable assistant Sierra who, despite various difficulties, persisted liaising with my insurance company in the UK to ensure a seamless and hassle-free process for myself. The background is that I fractured my humerus bone while in the Orlando area. What I valued most about Dr Shuler was his obvious expertise as an orthopaedic specialist and also his straight forward honesty. I was given sound advice during my consultation that put me on the right track, put my mind immediately at rest, and allowed me to expedite my return journey to my home country. My impression is that Dr Shuler puts the patient first above any other considerations. I can recommend Dr Paul Shuler and valued his services.

I have been Trying to get an appointment for over a week with this office they verified my insurance told me I needed a referral I sent the referral I called last Friday they verify they received it told me that they needed the x-rays and stuff from my primary so I have shared that with them I just got a message this morning told me that it was canceled because I didn’t have the referral I’m not sure what’s wrong with that office not very happy with them

Four months after the fact we receive a bill for a $500+ thumb/wrist brace that you can purchase "off the shelf" for $25-35. They billed our insurance $400+ for this brace and then decided to bill us for the difference. It is because of outrageous medical markups like this in conjunction with surprise late / bogus bills that make individuals choose to forgo medical treatment. I guess we should have asked for their price list prior to seeking medical treatment. 🙄 My follow up response to your dissertation: Rest assured, I was your patient and would be happy to prove it, it seems you resort to the "were not sure you're even our patient" deflection on a portion of your 1 star reviews. You never disclosed the price of the "off the shelf" brace, otherwise we would have politely declined to use it. If it makes you feel better saying that insurance sets the price for what products you offer your patients out of your office then have at it. No worries, lessons learned.

I love Doctor Shuler he promised that he will do his best to fix my knee and he did i have no more pain for years I had pain because of a tear in my meniscus I recommend him to anybody that having orthopedic issues he has won me over thank you Dr Shuler ….

This was my first appointment for shoulder pain numbeness in thumb and index finger . Staff was very polite and professional and so was Dr Shuler. I have to do a test and will see him again if need be. Thank you

I went to Dr Shuler in 2020 and because of the bone deterioration and my ongoing pain I elected to have both knees replaced at the same time. Although I had to struggle through the pain of rehab it was absolutely worth it. I now enjoy daily miles of walking, biking and all pain free. Many times I reflect on the technology and Dr. Shuler’s surgery and I am so grateful. I walk 2-3 miles daily and also bike 3-4 miles. I’m building larger muscle mass, lung capacity and a healthy heart because of Dr. Shuler and he’s in my thoughts at some point every month of my life. I would definitely start skiing and skating again but I don’t want to push the technology too much. Being 69 and retired with healthy legs has allowed me to go for long walks in Greece and we are now planning Italy, Spain and Portugal. Thank you Dr. Shuler.
