List of Shannon Boyer's Reviews
I recently had to see Dr. Boyer because the doctor I’ve been seeing for the last 10 years is no longer on my insurance network. Everyone out front is very friendly and kind. Dr. Boyer is nice but a little reserved and quiet. I didn’t mind that because my last doctor was a female and she had the same personality. He right away seized on the fact that likely what I had been told my diagnosis was, was not the case. He told me I had a severe case of dry eye and made recommendations on how to handle it. He asked me to come back in 2 months to see how things are going. I was quite happy with his office and staff and everything was on time and went smoothly. I hope I’ve found my new eye doctor.
We have been seeing Dr. Boyer, for a few years. His office staff is mostly decent and professional depending on the day you go and what you look like. His assistant Bonnie is RUDE and inappropriate and Unprofessional. Although I know the Doctor is excellent at what he does, I will find another ophthalmologist for future use.
I like seeing one professional only and spend my time with the doctor discussing my case.
Extremely unprofessional behavior by assistant. I was early for my 1st time visit. I completed the new patient package as a couple walked in. I heard the assistant say they were early but took them back immediately. after a 43 minute wait, my name was called. I asked the assistant about time involved as I only had 30-40 minutes left before I needed to move to my next appointment. I was told that I needed to leave.
I had a 1st time appointment which I was a few minutes early for and filled out the normal paperwork. A couple showed up as I completed the paperwork and they were taken back to see the Dr immediately. 43 minutes later I was invited back to see the Dr. and i mentioned that I only had 30-40 minutes left on my schedule. The elder red-haired assistant told me I had mismanaged my time and invited me to leave. I haven't been treated that way by a provider before. First timers be ware.
I have been amazed at the level of unprofessionalism of their office staff. Reception is condescending and does not listen to your question, no matter how polite you try to be. I still have an unresolved issue for an intermediate prescription that is useless. No one to talk to here that will listen or assist. They just want your money or vision benefits. All you have to do is listen and offer to help and not say "Maybe he will take mercy on you and not charge you..." Really? Sad and unprofessional -
He took two hours to remove a cataract when it should have taken 25 - 30 min.? I have since had to have a cornea transplant to restore my vision. I trusted Dr. Boyer for 25 years, but would not recommend him to family or friends nor will I return. Cruz J. Caamano

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
