The board certified cardiologist of Okeechobee. We provide the best possible care for our patients. Unfortunately some of our patients don’t realize that we also deal emergencies requiring surgery to save life, therefore highly qualified cardiovascular nurse practitioners is always available to see patients instead of waiting or rescheduling appointments with the doctor.

Two years ago, I gave Dr. Arain a 5 star rating, saying, “Dr. Arain cares and knows what he is doing. I have no complaints about him, nor about his staff.” However, now that he seems to prefer to have a nurse practitioner see his patients - and actually seems bothered when a patient insists on seeing him - I’ve lowered my rating to 3 stars. He’s still a good, competent cardiologist, but maybe he’s starting to crave retirement. I’m definitely about to seek another cardiologist’s opinion.

He is a compassionate and attentive physician. He is very knowledgeable and caring. He takes time to listen and to answer any question you may have. I worked in the medical field for over 30 years and have met some bad doctors. Dr. Shakoor is one of the good ones. Glad to have him as one of my doctors.

Excellent physician, attentive to patients needs, answers questions. shows compassion and patience. Overall just a good doctor. Staff pleasant and kind, have never had a really long wait to be seen. I worked in the medical field for over 30 years as a Paramedic and Respiratory Therapist and I know a bad doctor when I meet them and this gentleman is a good one.
