Saved me from a botched thumb surgery. Fixed both thumbs. Going back for trigger finger. Came highly recommended. I trust this man... please don't retire.
I broke my wrist and saw Dr. Hitchcock while visiting my son. I found him to be a dose of " Dr. Wonderful" (especially after the archaic treatment in the NYC ER). He explained to me just how badly broken my wrist was, & that I needed to have surgery as soon as possible (2 days later). He explained the break and the fix with models, so I could understand, patiently answered all my questions, and was very reassuring before & after surgery. Being from out of town, I was lucky to find such a gem!
My experience over 9 months under this man's care was 9 months too many.: 1) I fired him. 2) he is incapable of admitting when a procedure is beyond his training, experience and expertise 3) he refuses to consult with other colleagues and dismissed my request that he do so 4) follow-up is non-existent 5) rude and dismissive 6) unable to to instill my confidence in his "care" 6)confusing and contradictory in conveying information 7) lacks empathy and focuses on the negative 8)violates dr's. oath
BEWARE, I had a shot in my hand and the pain was so intense I couldn't sleep. I called the next day and went right in. His nurse was rude and he said that this never happened before. I went to physical therapy that day. I suffered for 2 weeks. I had to go back for test results and i confronted him on his neglect. He insisted that this has never happened and rolled his eyes. I looked online and it is a common reaction. I reported my experience to his administrator.
Very unprofessional. Received a shot in the hand. 20 minutes later I could not stand the pain. Went back and he told me I was imagining it and I was hysterical. He has never had a problem before. he was very condescending and never even looked at my hand. Next day I have a bruise and my hand is swollen. I will not go back.
He is awkward to talk to. Does not listen, or answer questions well. He insisted that I had certain symptoms when I repeatedly told him I did not. I felt talked down to and at times mocked. I don't usually leave reviews, good or bad, but I would not waste your time or money. I am now starting over and seeing a different Dr.
Excellent doctor. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone.
Very unprofessional, Socially awkward and unable to accurately explain his procedures. Dr. Hitchcock ignores the patient's feelings and questions and literally demeans other professions and lets his arrogant's out verbally as I quote he stated to me when you go to medical school then you can come talk to me. I have never been talked to like that in my life nor have I ever given a bad review about someone. I guess there is a first time for everything. PLEASE BE CAUTIOUS WITH THIS DR.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
