Poor communication.
Dr Lambrou has cared for me for over 14 years. He is very knowledgeable and professional. His office staff is excellent.
Patients beware!. Have had several people (after I already saw this man) how horrible treatment he provided. But.....they had look at his review and noted the were good. After seeing him, agree with me Dr. horrible despite reviews. What is throwing this man into good reviews in weighted by the 1st 4 questions. Staff etc. But the acutal care from Dr. is horrible! Should be based mainly on Dr's performance, knowledge, treatment and explains to the patient. If I could give him a ZERO would do it!
PLEASE DO NOT USE FOR SURGERY.
I was recently reffered to Dr. Lambrou for a problem I was having with my eye. After my visit, Dr. Lambrou recommended surgery. Being born and raised in Jacksonville, I have developed a large group of friends in the area for the last 70 years. Long story short, after extensive research, I was advised by several nurses at St Vincents not to use Dr. Lambrou. I was told point blank, Dr. Lambrou needs to retire!!! He has some sort of "shaky hand syndrome" and should only see patients in the office. Several other staff at the Hospital told me the same thing. I found another local retina Doctor and found out I didnt need surgery in the first place? Happy ending
Great treatment. Staff is good. Very professional and knowledgeable. Highly recommend Dr. Lambrou.
Well, it has been over a year with Dr. Lambrou, he's thorough and his bedside manners suffers a little. But I am convinced that he has the GIFTED HANDS that I would trust again. My vision didn't improve very much after all of my surgeries, but I understood the risk and chances of success. Oh, and I have spoken to 3 other eye specialists who all said that I was in very, very capable hands. If you have a question for the doctor ask him and he will stop and explain. Otherwise you will leave his office wondering to yourself what he did besides knowing your next appointment date.
Dr. Fred Lambrou Jr. is hard to read, perhaps because he only has a very limited amount of time or it's his demeanor, or maybe his culture? He's not rude, and he he tells you what your eye problem is, the treatment options, the BEST treatment option and your follow-up time and says have a nice day. Everything a patient could ask for, but I felt like a specimen, a lot of his time is spent entering information into my records and not saying a word. And while I can appreciate that, but it would be a little more comforting if he gave me just a little more eye contact as he explains his findings and the treatment plan for me. This comes after our 3rd visit; Wish I could give a future update to this comment. I came here to this site looking for assurance that he is the right Opthamologist for me, I want to trust him, and although he has a lot of patients, I have a little bit of uneasiness. Oh, and he did encourage us to take some brochures on my eye condition.
I am a 60 year old male who is blind in one eye and experiencing retina problems in the good eye. Dr. Lambrou has been my physician for several years now and I believe I'm receiving the best of care. I have visited other "top" eye institutions in the country and their assessment is totally in line with his.I am pleased to know he's my eye physician.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
