Victor Maquera's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Marquera, sadly I don’t have much to say about your care since we didn’t get to meet. But I am disappointed in my interactions with your staff which would be enough for me to not recommend this office. First when you walk in the waiting room is not inviting. There is maybe 6-7 seats in a small tight space. A TV with HGTV was on and blaring loud (can’t imagine if you were coming for migraines how that would make you feel). After walking in about 4 ft from door is a small window which was immediately closed upon staff seeing me walk in. There is a sign which says “DO NOT TOUCH GLASS under any circumstances, ring bell, and sit down. Someone will be with you” . After waiting for a short moment I was handed consent forms to complete. I completed these forms but stopped and did not sign the controlled substance policy. I told the staff I would not need to sign their controlled substance policy as I would not be getting any controlled substances from this office. I am currently in contract with different office and will not receive these medications from this office. By refusing to sign a form about controlled substances and not being allowed to discuss any care plans before being asked to sign such policy, I was refused medical care by the office manager. I am a provider and patients have rights to discuss medical care plans before being forced into signing contracts and policies with the provider, just like they can question medical test and medications. Your office manager refused to use common sense or reason. I didn’t argue, I can tell by the staff you surround yourself with that it would not be a place for me to receive care.

My experience with this office has been horrible. The people who work in this office are clueless, they don’t care about getting you better, sending the prior authorization to your insurance or giving you an appointment. I have never heard prior authorization are work by a list whoever is first on the list. They lie and when you ask to speak to the doctor they never give the doctor the message they will transfer you to a man who’s the “manager” but doesn’t want to share his name. Please don’t waste your time with this people.

He explains everything to you and is very patient I liked that.

the doctor was clueless did not know what I was there for then said oh . I can't help I asked why he said too many issues with your back I asked what the issues were and he said it's " worn out" I was pulling teeth to get him to explain anything and he referred me to some one else . HORRIFIC bedside manners and incompetence in dealing on a human level with patients in pain never seen anything like this . avoid him like the plague

I absolutely adore Dr. Maquera & his staff. He is the 1st Neurologist that treats me like a patient not like a crazy person. He quite literally saved my life. Strongly recommend!

Our son was subscribed Methadone from ur office that he says is 4 back & neck painI His father & I would like 2 know why would U subscribe Methadone 10mg 4 back & neck pain ??? Please explain? He is in 3 other meds from ur office . Clonazepam1mg, Tizanidine & Carosprodol 4mg & Levetiracetam 500 mg. FYI: Im sure U didn't know that our son has been addicted 2 drugs & has now turned to legal drugs.

So down to earth and very knowledgeable. He will be my neurologist until he retires which is hopefully never!

Dr. Maquera is a good Dr. and all the staff are wonderful. I only gave it a 4 because of their phone system. Totally non existant to speak with anyone & never return messages. Otherwise very pleased with the good Dr. and staff.
