Ahmed Zakari's Online Review Report Card

We had a terrible experience with Dr. Zakari. My dad passed away on August 15, 2022. He was the oncologist doctor in charge of my dad at Orlando AdventHealth. We communicated with Dr. Zakari maybe 3 times in the entire month that my dad spent in the hospital. There were changes in his treatments that he never communicated to us or gave us reasons for. We had to gather information from other doctors or nurses from the chemotherapy treatment that was supposed to be Dr. Zakari's responsibility. After my dad was sent to the ICU, he never visited him, even though we requested a meeting with him. We will be sending this in writing as well to the hospital. In the meantime, I want to make sure people know what to expect from this doctor. We are devastated for the loss of my father and we will always wonder what would have happened if we would have had the opportunity to discuss options with the doctor.

My husband was a patient of Dr. Zakari. He always assured us that there was several different treatments that could help him. On July 7 he went into the hospital and Dr. Zakari never visited him. On July 20,they put him in hospice and he passed away on July 24th, 2022. They had just told us the cancer was stable and not spreading. So why did Hospice kill him?

I have been in remission since June of 2013. Dr Zakari and his team saw me thru 8 rounds of chemo and 2 yrs of maintenance chemo. He is informative and compassionate.

Colon Cancer specialist, No one wants to have colon cancer but Dr. Zakari has been wonderful throughout this journey. He takes time and will answer every question and will explain the process completely. He actually cares about me and that is very comforting when you are are a cancer patient like I am. I can’t imagine not having him and his staff on my side.

I have been blessed to have Dr Zakari to care for the cancer diagnosis. He has been caring and compassionate always listening to my needs and concerns about the chemo treatment. Additionally, his staff always there to help when I needed.I am very grateful because it has made this journey a lot easier for me to deal with. Thank you so much!

My husband was referred to Dr. Zakari because of his blood test results. Dr. Zakari's P.A. informed him he had either CLL or CMLleukemia and did additional blood work to determine which type. This was on a Friday. Our weekend was spent agonizing over the future, researching treatments & life expectancies of CLL and CML and breaking the bad news to our family. We waited all week for a call with the blood test results. Finally, on Friday, a full week later, my husband called her and she said one of the results was "blurred". We then received a voice mail this morning (Monday), in which she said "Everything is normal". We are stunned and appalled that a supposed medical professional would tell a patient they had leukemia with absolutely no basis in fact. My husband's already high blood pressure sky-rocketed & I was so devastated & stressed I thought I was going to have another heart attack. There is no excuse for this negligent & dangerous behavior.

I have been a patient of Dr Zakari since 11/2018. I found & find him to be very knowledgeable, compassionate & he listen intently to all of my questions & concerns. I also feel the front office & care team are some of the nicest people I have ever met. With gratitude Agnes Davis

Every time we have a scheduled appointment, there is some type of problem : from being in 1 office and being told the appointment is at his other location, to waiting over an hour and a half for a scheduled appointment. The front desk could have contacted us prior to our appointment to advise, or advise at check in regarding the wait time so we could have left and come back. He is very unprofessional, and inconsiderate of others time. I would most definitely not recommend him.

Very inconsiderate, unprofessional and a severe lack of empathy. Treats patients as a number. ABSOLUTELY NO COMMUNICATION.
