Alex Menendez's Online Review Report Card

Alex Menéndez a Sido mi gastroenterólogo por al rededor de 10 años, tiempo en el cual aprendí a apreciarlo por su responsabilidad, su amabilidad y su profesionalismo, me entristece mucho saber que se va a retirar, pero a la vez me alegra por él. Let me start off by saying I have never felt the need to leave a negative review about a Healthcare provider before. My visit with Dr. Alex Menendez yesterday was something I will quite frankly think about for years to come, that is how negative my experience was. I read the reviews about the bad bedside manners from some doctors there but out of desperation for relief and needing care I attended this practice anyways. Firstly zero manners when he entered the room, specially being a new patient...no hello just a "why are you here" approach. He then proceeded to show his frustration at the fact that my old doctor didn't provide my records. I had a change of insurance so I'm currently transferring to all new doctors(hence the reason for my visit with him) he had ZERO understanding and made it seem like it was my fault. I will answer your question again, yes Alex I am "Latina" Everything up to that point I brushed off. While explaining to him my issues he kept cutting me off. I explained how a medication I took gave me no relief and actually made my symptoms worse. Later in the conversation he stated that medication is given for IBS symptoms so that's probably what I have....but sir I just told you it did not do its intended purpose...did you even listen to me. I mentioned I was bloated and in pain, to which he answered I was not bloated after a 2 second exam. Perhaps I misinterpreted pain for bloat but the pain is 100% still there. I felt dismissed, I felt like a transaction, I felt lettured and ridiculed. He had absolutely ZERO empathy for someone that is clearly seeking help. Immediately after my visit once I had time to process everything I broke down, I was seeking medical help and I not only had the worst experience of my life with him but experienced the worst panic attack afterwards. With his actions and disgusting demeanor, Dr. Alex Menendez not only emotionally broke me but ultimately in a matter of minutes stripped away the idea of a life without chronic pain. Alex, your public display of self righteousness and how quick you are to dismiss someone's cry for help and treat them so poorly only proves how much you do not value or practice your Hippocratic Oath and for that you should be ashamed. Perhaps during your years of practice you have grown complacent in your ways of poorly approaching people as humans. Perhaps you are ill-equipped on how to treat those outside a certain demographic which would explain the need to cut me off while you wrote notes using pen and paper as they did in 1994. In regards to the office, the staff is neither friendly nor rude. They also treat you like a transaction and you can clearly see how unhappy and burnt out they are. Perhaps due to the lack of support and having to work with such doctors. I pitty those that visit this office in desperate need of assistance and assure you, better help and more compassionate doctors are out there. Please do not settle for this mediocre practice let alone their doctors.

Worst experience in my life! The staff is terrible. Several times I called them and left messages nobody called me back. Finally, I reach out to them and the nurse said I'll call back. Yes, she didn't call me back! At the first appointment, I told all my medical history. Even so, Dr. Menendez reported the first time diagnosed after my procedure. That's why I paid extra for the surgery center! They never fix their mistake. Stay away!

Terribly unprofessional and unreliable. They ask you to come in for an appointment every time you need a refil. If you’re 5 minutes late the appointment is canceled but if you show up on time you’ll wait at least 30 minutes to not even be in the office for 20 minutes with a doctor who wont even look at you. The front desk and nurses are rude and unfriendly, they’re just trying to take your money. Terrible place, do NOT recommend.

They are absolutely unprofessional and inconsiderate of their patients. I was referred to them by my doctor, from the same group. My appointment was canceled the same day of my visit because they supposedly couldn’t verify my insurance information.

I have been a patient with Dr. Menendez for many years. Always caring, listens to my concerns and takes his time when I am in his office.

Really like Dr. Alex Menendez. In appointments he was not rushed and answered my questions and explained what should be done. And during procedure was very kind.

As a first time patient with Dr. Menendez, I found him warm and welcoming. He took the time to get to know me as a person not just a patient. He was quite thorough and made certain that I understood the process and procedures. I would highly recommend him to anyone in need of Gastro/Med services.

MENENDEZ was the doctor on call for dr. Baker. After being diagnosed with chronic pancreatitus and having a terrible living quality I called for advice on what to do. Didn't expect dr Menendez himself to yell at me over the phone. He went 0 to 100 real quick and was of no help. So happy he isn't my doctor. Look elsewhere you don't want him as yours!
