List of Ananthi Rathinam's Reviews
If I could give negative stars I would. My daughter had been having seizures. Her pediatrician is as amazing about getting us into a place asap. She said this wasn’t her first choice but it was the first available and she needed seen asap. She even had an eeg ready for the neurologist. The first time we saw 3 different people in the room. She had horrible bedside manner. For a pediatric doctor she should have better talked to and explained herself. My daughter is only 4. I knew nothing about what was going on with my daughter except for details about what I and others have witnessed her experiencing. She didn’t really seem to listen. She ordered tests and I never saw her again. I only saw the physicians assistant afterwards. Who also is awful. Any concerns I had were brushed off. When I brought up episodes she had I was made to believe I was crazy and it wasn’t possible because of different reasons. I am still having a hard time getting a hold of her medical records. The office has an in house eeg center but if your appointment is on Saturday you can not get them to answer the phone. They don’t schedule the follow up if it was a tele health visit. You have to call and do that. If prior authorization is needed for a prescription then you’ll be waiting awhile to get the prescription. They simply do not show any compassion or concern for their patients. The doctor told me that during her 12 hour eeg they would do stressors to bring on a seizure. They only did a flashing light over her closed eyes during the past 2 minutes. She had a seizure minutes after walking out. When I expressed concerns about the first medicine she was put on they left her on it and the next time I expressed concern I was told “we’ll try this new medicine since you don’t like the other one” she never really went over her official diagnosis well and never explained test results unless asked. I have no access to her medical records or to the results like most other places. I’m extremely disappointed in the neglect, uncaring, selfish natures of the staff and doctors.
Absolutely terrible! She had a bunch of testing done on my son and I never saw or spoke to her ever again. I asked about levels that were off in all his testing and was blown off as well as given clonidine because my son was a terrible sleeper. Only to find out by other doctors my son had sleep apnea and he had high levels of acids that showed in the testing she did and did nothing about it. High levels of acids that can lead to seizures and damage and death to brain cells and she did nothing. She received the checks for all these testing and blew it off as my son having autism. Completed disgusted with this doctor.
HORRIBLE BEDSIDE MANNER: I took my son who has an anxiety disorder to see Dr. Rathinam. I made sure to note on the medical forms that he has anxiety. I don't think she even read the forms because she didn't realize that until about 5 minutes into the exam. He was nervous about meeting a new doctor so was on edge the moment she entered the room. She asked him his name and when he didn't answer, asked him a couple times more loudly, "WHAT IS YOUR NAME?" He kept getting more anxious. Instead of comforting him, she saw that he was holding a gaming console and launched straight into that he needs to go cold turkey on screen time and that that was what was causing his anxiety. I had brought it with us because some of the sensory coping tools he usually has at home would be difficult to bring to a doctor's office. She made me feel shamed for bringing the gaming console. She then talked "at" me about what tests he'll need all while he kept getting more and more anxious. Then, out of the blue she wheeled her stool over to him and reached for his arm to begin to examine him. No, "Ok, I'd like to exam you now. Will you come sit on the examination table so I can take your pulse?" SOMETHING would have been helpful! He pulled away and started shrieking. We wrapped up the appointment and did everything we could to get out of the office. The waiting room was full of families. My son was so embarrassed. You'd think that a seasoned PEDIATRIC neurologist would have experience on how to interact with an anxious child but Dr. Rathinam showed no sensitivity to the situation. I will NEVER bring my son back to her office again.

my child had a brain injury due to drowning and bad seizures. not only the seizures are well controlled but the entire staff and Dr. Rathinam are very caring and gives me support and guides me every possible way
My babies seizures are very well controlled under the care of Dr. Rathinam. The entire staff is very caring and follows up efficiently with the needed paper works , referrals etc..
I was a patient of Dr. Rathinam's for nearly 8 years when I was mailed a letter that stated I was no longer a patient of Kids Neuro Care due to my age being over 21. When I was accepted as a patient of this private practice I was just shy of turning 21, so this letter makes little sense and I had also just visited the office a week prior for my 3 month follow up. It would've been more professional to bring this up in person, than to mail out a letter given how long my relationship had been with this practice and their physicians. Not to mention, Dr. Rathinam left me under the impression that if I were to go three years without experiencing a grand mal seizure that I could wean off my medication regiment and go back to my lifestyle before the diagnoses. After seeing two different neurologists they informed me that I will never be able to stop taking my medications and Dr. Rathinam should've modified my medication when I received back MANY abnormal EEGs. This practice has required me to visit every 3 months for prescription refills when the doctor knows I'll be on this medication for the rest of my life. After nearly 8 years I felt like a number and mislead, not like a person taken care of.

My daughter has been here for past 10years and we love the doctor who is the absolute best and all the staff especially Francisco, Maria , Cathy

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
