Anita Hafeez's Online Review Report Card

Dr Hafeez ignored my privacy concerns and only presented care options which would require a family member to access my medical record. I immediately revoked my permission for her to access my medical information, in ANY capacity-which she totally disregarded and continued to access my record on at least 3 occasions after I “fired” her. I used that specific language-“you are fired and do not have my permission to access my record”. A privacy office said she could, technically, still access my record-regardless of my wishes, since she was still assigned as my primary-but Dr Hafeez knowingly disregarding my wishes and not choosing to have a team PA or nurse access my record instead of doing so herself, is, at a minimum, unethical. By accessing my record she made it clear she totally discounted my concerns, making it VERY clear she would access my record when she wanted, for what ever reason she wanted. Just because administratively she COULD doesn’t mean she SHOULD. Unacceptable.

No respect for patient privacy. Presented a proposed care plan that included a relative; presented alternative plans that all required my relative to access my private medical information. I fired her due to her absolute lack of empathy and refusal to address my concerns. She ignored my clear and absolute revocation of her access to my private information. Despite “firing her”, She still accessed my medical record 4 times after I revoked permission and fired her as my provider. Based on an administrative technicality, she was “authorized” to access the record since she was still my “primary on paper”, but the fact she did so, after I said NEVER AGAIN, clearly shows that she does not care about patient priorities, nor does she respect their wishes. She apparently feels she can function with impunity. Knowing I had concerns about her insensitivity to patient privacy concerns, and that I told her she no longer had my permission to access my record, she should have had a PA or team RN note any follow on comments to my record. She may have technically been allowed (not with my permission) to access my record, but ethically, just because she COULD doesn’t mean she SHOULD. Do not trust this doctor. She had zero understanding why someone wouldn’t want another family member digging in their personal medical records. Clueless. Callous. Untrustworthy. Disregards your wishes. Ignores what you want.
