List of Anup Patel's Reviews
Dr. Patel is the real deal. He is very sincere, empathetic, and clearly isn’t in his profession for his money. He very obviously loves what he does for a living, as opposed to operating on patients purely out of monetary gain. He did everything he could to save me money on my procedure, as I paid out of pocket. I ended up paying half of what I would have paid under other surgeons’ rates, purely because he intended on saving me money, while being the most efficient at correcting my deficits. He also took extra time out of his day to see me very quickly, despite being half an hour late due to traffic and unfamiliarity with the area at first. 5/5. I would give him a 10/5 if possible. Will be returning for post-op assessment, and will be referring my friends and family to his practice.
I would highly recommend Dr. Patel. My surgery was to remove a sliver of painted metal drip edge close to the bone in my pointer finger. Dr. Patel didn’t push surgery but gave realistic options of what could happen if the object was left in. Now six weeks from surgery very happy I trusted Dr. Patel, he was very professional and confident. My finger has 100% mobility and minor scaring. Since it’s such a sensitive area, I was very hesitant. Again, highly recommend, and very thankful. Thank you Dr Patel.
Dr. Anup Patel and his staff were wonderful and took such great care of me and my finger! I reccomend them to everyone I know and don't know.
I highly recommend Dr Anup Patel. My mom recently had a rather large lipoma surgically removed from her back. Dr Patel explained the procedure in detail prior and even called to check on my mom when she was recovering at home after the surgery. Great bedside manner, very knowledgeable, and skilled!
I’m a 24 year old male athlete who had an uncommon sports related injury. I had a fractured hook of the hamate in my right hand. When the injury first occurred, I thought it was a wrist injury and decided to give it rest not knowing that my hand was actually broken. Two months later, I reached out to Dr. Patel’s office because I was still in pain and he was able to see me right away. After a CT scan, we were able to identify the fractured hook of the hamate. When consulting with Dr. Patel, he was very open and honest of my options and limitations. I made the decision to have the broken fragment removed due to my daily activities. Because the injury occurred two months prior, the fracture had started to heal back and Dr. Patel informed me that he would have to re-fracture it during surgery to remove it which I was okay with. Dr. Patel was very honest with me and told me that the procedure might not be successful in eliminating the pain until a couple of months post operation. Luckily, that was not the case. Just one month after surgery I was released to 100% activities with no restrictions. I had a very successful operation in the extraction of the hook of the hamate and releasing my median nerve so I will never have carpal tunnel in my right hand. Dr. Patel was very nice, comforting, proficient and a pleasure to work with during the span of this difficult time for me. I would highly recommend anyone to Dr. Patel.
Dr. Patel is an incredible surgeon that I wholeheartedly recommend! I was diagnosed with a rare form of melanoma under my fingernail. Dr. Patel performed the biopsy with little pain and a very easy recovery. He had a wonderful bedside manner checking on me afterwards and informing me that I did have melanoma. He was very reassuring as he explained the next steps of treatment and was very patient answering all of my questions. Normally, removing melanoma of this type would involve amputation of part of my finger, however, Dr. Patel was able to beautifully save my finger! I cannot say enough about Dr. Patel's surgical skills! My finger looks amazing and it is hardly noticeable. Dr. Patel's post operative care is also excellent, checking to ensure that my finger was healing properly. An incredible surgeon with a very lovely demeanor!
Jan. 29, 2023, I fell in my kitchen. At the ER visit, xrays showed I had fractured the radius(at the wrist)of my arm. I was referred to see a hand specialist 4 days later. At this visit, surgery was discussed but it was left up to me after the pros and cons were discussed. My husband called OHSA (Fri am). The receptionist "listened". She understood our concerns. After searching, she asked if we could come that afternoon as Dr. Patel could see me. When Dr. Patel entered the room, he sat down and showed us the xays. He looked straight at me and said, "there is no question, you need to have this surgery. The bone is not stable". He spoke with such intelligence and integrity. You can tell his focus is taking care of each patient, giving them the best care and surgical results. The surgical center is on the same floor. My surgery was Mon with incredible results. I chose the rehab on the same floor that has an OT/hand therapist. Dr. Patel is a "Gifted Surgeon"! He is just a great man.
I had a motorized incident and broke my wrist (distal radius). At first Dr. Patel wasn't sure if surgery was better than a cast since the joint was still properly aligned, but he explained my options and the risks vs benefits of the surgery. He consulted with the OHSA doctors and they came to a consensus that surgery would have a higher chance of success. It turned out that surgery was the correct path since the break shifted between doctors visits and would have healed incorrectly inside the cast. The fracture was a shear fracture from falling at 25mph, and it required all the pins available to hold small pieces together, including fragments on the other side of the wrist. I recovered full range of motion in about 3 months, 2-3 months ahead of schedule, and strength is almost back after 2 months of PT. I would recommend Dr. Patel and OHSA to anyone with an injury or surgery in mind.
Not an exaggeration: Literally the best medical experience I’ve ever had. The OHSA front office staff is most efficient and personable. Dr. Patel is extremely punctual, an expert and a professional. All 5 of my visits to OHSA were incredibly delightful. I saw Dr. Patel to get a second opinion. After slamming 2 fingers in a door, breaking the finger tips, and receiving 10 stitches, I first went to the surgeon referred by the ER. In contrast to the treatment I would later receive at OHSA by Dr. Patel, this practice was terrible and the surgeon told me I needed surgery ASAP. Thank God I went to Dr. Patel and received a second opinion. He very succinctly explained my injury and very accurately predicted my recovery without surgery. In fact, Dr. Patel explained that the surgery originally proposed was not possible. 8 weeks later, I have full range of motion and feeling in my fingers. I cannot more highly recommend Dr. Patel and OHSA.
