List of Aparna Hernandez's Reviews
Warning: this is lengthy… I used to have a great experience with this office. From the friendly staff to the quick yet thorough visits. If my appointment was for 3:15 they called me in at 3:10. I initially started coming here to get back on my ADHD medication, and to address my binge eating habits. As someone who thoroughly researches the medications I am prescribed before taking (whatever it may be) & have been on adderall in the past and from my findings and experience i concluded that vyvanse was the lesser evil of the 2. Dr. Lyndsey put me on vyvanse 10 roughly around August of 2022, this dose was perfect as I took frequent medication holidays and it didn’t zombie me out while also subsiding my overeating. Every month, no issue. In Sept 2022, I was part of a company wide lay off, lost my insurance yet was still willing to pay cash for my appt’s since I figured it’d be less costly than having to “trial and error” with several new docs. I saw her in September for another refill while I still had insurance that month. Next visit would be cash pay this was in January. I tried spacing out Sept as long as I could given that I literally had 0 income generating, I was also out of work so while I felt the medication might’ve been useful in my efforts at locating another job I didn’t feel I needed it as much as I did when I was working as an MLO juggling a million things. However, I digress, January’s cash visit was a regular medication refill visit. No issues, nothing to be addressed…she gave me a 3 month prescription which the vyvanse coupon I have to help with the medication costs (it was over $300) only covers a 1 month and controlled substances are not allowed to have refills. I called the office to thank them for calling in a 3 month but to have them send in another prescription the following month as CVS had to cut the original 3 month to a 1 and the remainder is voided. It wasn’t until the 3rd month/3rd refill (March) that prescribing me my medication posed as an issue. Telling me if I intended on being on the medication long term that I’d need to see a psychiatrist. This was never discussed with me, month after month, visit and refill after refill. If this was addressed with me ahead of time and the expectation set it wouldn’t bother me today how easily they can cold Turkey someone from their medications. As if I abused it, as if I didn’t use it for something other than what the mainstream uses it for. Prior to Lyndsey being my PCP I’ve gone to other PCP’s that prescribed me this drug, month after month. It’s honestly disgusting how these medical practices operate. Rather than weaning someone off until they are able to establish something new with another practice they cut you off without care or empathy about the repercussions that come with stopping a medication too quickly. I know Lyndsey is not the doctor who approved the medications and I believe it’s Dr. Hernandez but this “doctor” is a heartless jerk (for lack of better words) for jeopardizing the integrity of their practice but their patients well being.
Dr Hernandez is, by far, the most compassionate, knowledgeable, trustworthy doctor I’ve ever had. Always spends considerable time addressing my concerns and truly cares about my health and general wellbeing.
I was lucky to have been Recomended this office a little over 14 years ago, they had their office in a different location and I followed them when they moved. They are extremely caring and professional but more importantly knowledgeable. I recently moved and so wish I could have them closer as I am now searching for new doctors since I am 4 hours away but had to come leave a review. I experienced nothing but the best care from everyone (admins, nurses, doctors) every single time. I started going to them in my early 20s up to my mid 30s and am hoping I will be able to find an amazing team where I moved like the one I experienced at southwest Internal medicine, Aparna, Sarah, Rebekah and Galceran are all top notch.
I have been calling all week to reschedule and no one picks up the phone. Today I was able to get through just to be hung up on. I will not pay the no show fee because i have more than enough proof that i have tried to call and reschedule. Super disappointed.
Dr Hernandez is a great Dr!!! The staff is horrible they don’t listen when you call to make a appointment you have to repeat yourself at least 3 times. I’m transferring to another Dr office because of the horrible staff.
i have been with Dr A Hernandez for years. She is very caring. i am immune compromised.
If you are looking for a GREAT internist, Dr Hernandez is the one for you!!! I had my physical with her last month and we had not just a Dr visit, but a friend chat. She wanted to know about 'me' which was so nice. I highly recommend her.
I have never liked a doctor so instantly in my whole life. She makes you feel so comfortable and I honestly am looking forward to my next appointment. She took her time to understand me and help me and explain drugs to me that I have been taking for half my life.
AWFUL The doctor was terribly rude and made me feel so inferior. Took advantage of my insurance. VERY UPSET and would not go back!
I really like the Dr Hernandez. Working with the front office is the worst. No follow-up, seems to not care. We are looking for a new doctor...

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
