List of Farid Gharagozloo's Reviews
Dr. Gharagozloo sincerely cares about his patients! His knowledge and experience is above reproach! He listens to his patients and never makes anyone feel rushed. He certainly changed my life for the better!
Dr. G and his staff literally saved my life. I had been having issues involving my stomach and esophagus for years. In 2020, I received a Nissan fundlpication from a different doctor/area. I also underwent a lynx procedure in 2022 from a different doctor/area. Neither worked and most likely made things worse. Things were so bad that I could barely function day to day. However, Dr G took the time to explain everything, was very quick to ensure I underwent the necessary testing, and made it a priority to have me get the treatment I needed at soon as possible. I had the surgery only about 1 month after my first visit, which goes to show how important it was for Dr G. to make sure my quality of life improved ASAP. I’m still recovering from the surgery, but can already feel the improvements such as better breathing, feeling much more comfortable while lying down, and being able to tolerate food. While I recovered at the hospital, the entire staff was very kind and empathetic. His assistant Leslie is amazing- very knowledgeable, kind, and caring throughout the process. I know there are many who are like me reading these reviews with uncertainty and were at their wits end with finding doctors and treatments to fix their stomach/esophagus/hernia issues. I implore you to reach out and talk with Dr. G and his staff. I’m so grateful that I did.
It's almost 5 years since Dr G has operated on me. I had a hital hernia with a nissen and Dr G had taken it all down. I had an EV and got my life back. He's a very compassionate and knowledgeable doctor, one of a kind. I highly recommend Dr G, because I don't think, i would of had any quality of life left if he didn't help me. I can't thank enough for everything. I hope he continues to help others for many more years to come.
I am currently 2 years post surgery with this complete screw up .I'm in continual pain. Please avoid him!!!!°°
I suffered a significant injury during an Airborne operation while in the Army that caused my stomach to herniate into my stomach. I had 6 surgeries in the Army in an attempt to fix the problem and it was made worse each time. Dr.Gharagozloo performed an Esophageal Valvuloplasty via Open Thorocotomy and successfully repaired EVERYTHING the military surgeons screwed up. This man has the hands of angel, I swear it.
I have been one year out since my surgery, with no symptoms or problems that I carried for twenty years. I had a huge hiatel hernia, severe gerd., trouble breathing, anemia and severe heart pain. I had specialists treating each symptom. Dr. G. put my stomach back on place, unfolded my lung, putting that back in place and reattached my esophogus and stomach. I have had NONE of the previous problems or symptoms. He litterally saved my life as well as giving me a new life, and I will be eternally greatful.
Dr. Gharagozloo performed an Ivor Lewis esophagectomy on my brother in September 2019. During the weeks following surgery, there were serious complications. Calls to Dr. Gharagozloo’s office went unanswered or we were told their policy is that we have to go to the nearest hospital. We followed that direction however the hospitals were not equipped to handle his “new anatomy” that had resulted from the radical and complicated esophagectomy procedure. Even the attending physicians at the other hospitals were perplexed as to why he wasn’t being treated at the center where the surgery was performed and by the doctor who performed the surgery. If you are considering this practice for anything serious, I would strongly urge you to check out Mayo Clinic or MD Anderson Clinic that have robust programs in place for follow up care to specifically avoid disasters like we experienced. My brother passed away less than three months after his surgery. There should have been better communication and surgical follow up.
I had the worst acid reflux and GERD. Everything I ate or drank had been coming back up for years and every doctor I went to just told me to change my diet, but that wasnt working. Even when I would drink water it would come back up. I met a random guy in Costco who recommended doctor G. I called up doctor G that day in the parking lot, and 2 months later I had the surgery. The surgery was pretty painless with a minimal recovery time. I havent had one instance of acid reflux or GERD since the surgery!! I'm very thankful for the random guy in costco and most importantly doctor G. Doctor G was able to help me out when nobody else could!
Saved my life
This man and his team gave me my life back I would do anything for any of them I am so blessed and grateful what a truly amazing doctor and awesome staff I would walk to Florida to see him if I had to I traveled from Missouri and wow was it worth it thank you doctor g and team.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
