List of Frank Hellinger's Reviews
In 2016 Dr . Frank Hellinger JR. Did a procedure on me to fix a spinal Dural AV fistula and during the procedure hit a artery he said he didn’t see with the Embolizer and caused me to have a spinal stroke which left me with no feeling in my right leg and also left me with poor motor skills in my right leg also I have foot drop and I have incontinence now thanks to Dr Hellinger , I would never ever suggest anyone go here , ruined the rest of my life , thanks Dr Hellinger 👍!!!!!!!! Oh one more thing he said he was sorry but with a lot of physical therapy I may regain some of my movement but my feeling in my leg would never come back , I drove a truck for a living and made great money since 2016 I live off of disability 🤔 bet he never thinks of that day that I will never forget every time I stumble or fall or have bathroom accidents I’ll think of him .
I had been in severe pain with 5 lumbar fractures since Sept 2022. According to an Ortho surgeon I was ineligible for surgery due to pre-existing conditions. I was sent to a pain clinic and continued to be in agonizing pain. In February 2022 Dr. Hellinger did 5 kyphoplasty's with conscious sedation and I am well on the way to recovery. He is brilliant and kind with an excellent bedside manner. He walks on water in my books ...he changed my life.
On Mother's Day this year I almost lost my life. But due to Dr.Hellinger and his team I am here today.I will forever be grateful,Thankyou to each and everyone that assisted me during this trying time.
The worst days of our lives! Almost a year, when in apparently easy procedure Hellinger fail, causing a massive bleeding in my husband’s brain, he almost killed him. (My husband was 49 years old now is 50) with any sense of compassion, he came to my daughters and me saying, he is going to die! He is going to die! For our fortune and Hellinger’s too, my husband is alive with a very good recovery, with some permanent physical and mental sequelae but we are working and dealing with have faith, it has been a very difficult time for all of us! Thank God and thanks to Dr. Field and the excellent Adventh Health Hospital staff, my husband is alive now. My only thought now is...it’s time for Dr. Hellinger to look for his retirement. Veronica
GET A 2ND OPINION ~ Johns Hopkins called him a "cowboy surgeon" I'm still here 7 years later, no operation no rupture. I would be dead if I had followed through with the surgery he recommended. GET A 2ND OPINION

I had a headache and fever for 3 days, and was sent to him for evaluation with MRI scans in hand that showed nothing. The nurse and Doctor IMMEDIATELY tried to sell me on the angioplasty procedure like used car salesmen. No wonder he's done over 500 of these procedures. Note that an "event" like a stroke or death can occur with 1 in 500 of these procedures. He's done over 500, and I don't like those odds if the procedure is not really necessary. I understand it is the definitive procedure if a stroke is suspected, but I felt there was no need for this expensive, risky procedure, running a wire and flashlight from my thigh, up inside my brain and root around looking for problems, and tangle any weak spots up with wire to seal them off. HEY, wait a minute, I'm only 58 and it was a headache with fever and vomit and my first episode. It had long subsided by the time I got to him. Its been several years with no recurrence. I think I just had a touch of encephalitis and glad I passed on this hip-pocket angiography recommendation. I said lets do a MRA (like a MRI scan, only high-definition for the brain) and see. It came back clean, and they still leaned on me insisting I needed the procedure. No thanks Doc, I need to make my house payment, not yours. If you go, just be aware EVERYBODY that walks in the door needs an angioplasty procedure.....
On November 24, 2017, I had a stroke as a result of a spontaneous carotid artery dissection. Thankfully Dr. Frank Hellinger was available that day to remove the clot from by brain and place three protective stents into my brain and neck. I have no doubt that Dr. Hellinger saved my life and my brain. In addition, Dr. Hellinger is extremely kind and personable.
Absolutely the best Doctor I have ever experienced in my life when I needed it most. He is a very direct, honest and caring person. He explains the procedures, risks and potential outcomes clearly and in a manner that is easy to understand. He is extremely busy because he is popular and highly skilled. However, regardless of how long his days are, he always found time to check in. Lastly, he is highly respected by the Doctors and Nurses at Florida Hospital which spoke volumes about his skill and work ethic.
Caring and professional doctor. Would recommend him as a highly skilled orthopedist.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
