List of Irene Brown Medary's Reviews
Dr. Medary was very dismissive. He did not listen to me at all, spoke over me to tell me there’s nothing wrong with me, did not do any type of check - not even vitals were taken. He did not listen when I tried to tell him why I referred to him. He was quick to tell me stop going to doctors. I actually hardly EVER go to any doctor unless as a last resort. I was appalled at the treatment I received.
I had neck surgery by Dr Medary 2vweeks ago and an very happy with the results. Before surgery I could hardly swallow due to a high bone spur pressing on my esophagus. I also had neck disc problems. The pain was horrible. After surgery I am 100 % better.
I visited Dr. Medary three months ago, he was recommended by my primary doctor and, I was so scared because I did not know about my diagnosis, I had Chiari type 1, I had never heard about that. He took plenty of time to answer every question and make us feel comfortable before and after surgery when he checked on me in the hospital. Once again he took his time to explain and answer questions to my family. Now I'm feeling really good and I don't' have pain any more. Thanks Dr. Medary you have changed my life!. If I would have another neurologic disease I would come to him again for sure.
Dr medary saw my MRI and told me to meet him at the hospital because it needed to be removed right away. He was referred by my primary dr. He took plenty of time to answer questions and make us feel comfortable before surgery and after when he checked on me in the hospital. Also took plenty of time to answer my wife and kids questions and had cared for me through this whole process . If the cancer returns I would use him again for sure.
Dr. Medary is a wonderful neurological surgeon. I have no pain, even after two years out from surgery. I recommend him to anyone needing neck/spine surgery. He is the best!
all i can say is that Dr Medary is amazing had two surgeries done by him in the last year and he change my life for good amazing easy recovery.
Bad after care. Srgical site got infected, was told dont go to ER its nirmal. No culture or mri ordered when ER contacted him. Staph infection on brain and boneflap had to be removed by another surgeon as a result. Brown ooze and puss not normal sir.
Dr. Medary is a competent, wonderful and very knowledgeable doctor. I moved here from Michigan and needed to find a neurosurgeon as I was told I needed surgery. I had 3 back surgeries 20 years ago, so I needed a doctor with experience. I found one! He answered all my questions, and explained everything in terms I understood! The office personal was also wonderful!! and kind! SO thankful to find Dr. Medary!
As a patient for many years I can assure anyone that not ONLY did Dr. Medary correct the surgery on my L5-S1 that another local "expert" messed up - I have played tennis again. He has a deep sense of humor that could be misdiagnosed if not recognized, but NO other surgeon could be a better choice. When my hubby had to seek back restoration we did not even get a second opinion. IT WAS 100% Dr. Max Medary.
It seems like some of the negative reviews I have read about Dr. Medary are from patients who he has not operated on. My situation is different. I heard about him from church friends who were very happy with their TOTAL experience with him. I was fortunate that I was able to consult with him soon after I started having serious sciatic nerve pain problems so bad that I could not walk. After his review of my MRI and diagnosis, he felt positive that he could repair the three disk and vertebrae problems I had suffer with for many years. Importantly, he felt confident that he could operate on all three of my problem areas in one surgery at the nearby Dr. Phillips Hospital. The surgery went well under his capable and experienced hands and the hospital staff was wonderful. The manner in which he explained what needed to be done, how it was to be accomplished, and what my short term recovery would be was exceptional. He took the time to answer every question my husband and I had with great professionalism and in a manner that gave us the feeling that there would be a very good likelihood of success. As I look back weeks after my surgery by Dr. Medary and the elimination of my leg pain, I still very much feel that the total experience of putting myself in his hands was a very wise decision. His office and hospital surgical staff were wonderful throughout the process. For that above reasons, I would recommend him to anyone who HE feels he can help to improve the quality of their lives.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
