Sand Lake Surgery Center's Online Review Report Card

My husband had eyelid surgery and our experience with the staff and the doctors were outstanding! The surgery was punctual and the receptionist very attentive and the staff and doctors very caring. This place treated my husband absolutely amazing! Thank you all for such great service and treatment with your patients.

The anesthesiologist Doug Miller was rude, lacked compassion and disregarded my cries of pain. I have had had several surgeries and never before have I experienced this kind of pain particularly once the IV has been inserted. It appeared that he hurriedly forced the anesthesia into my vein as rapidly as possible despite the agony he was fully aware by my cries that he was causing me to suffer. It is more than a day later and the pain has not subsided and my hand is unusually swollen. It makes me wonder whether first do no harm was even a consideration by Doug Miller.

Brought my mom for a minor procedure. We were instructed to arrive at 7am for a the procedure that was scheduled for 9am. Paperwork was completed by 720 and told they would be taking her back in 15 to 20 minutes. It is now 820 and we still sit her waiting and the waiting area is maxed out with others waiting to be called for their procedure. Highly inefficient in scheduling patients and procedures.

Rude. You'll never get money owed back. You'll never get ahold of anyone. This place is impossible to get ahold of. My insurance tried for a solid YEAR without success. They stole over $1,000 of my money. I was not responsible for paying a deductable because of a benefit program through my insurance. When the receptionist asked for it the day if surgery, I informed her there'd been a mistake. She literally wouldn't let me call my insurance. She said I was the first surgery of the day and they don't have time to wait so pay or cancel the surgery. I never got my money back...

I had the most wonderful experience here. My entire visit, from the front desk staff, preoperative nurses & support staff to the recovery nurses, was exceptional. I'm terrible with names & adding anesthesia onto that doesn't help, lol. The anesthesiologist (Chaz I believe he said he's referred to & his nurses anesthetist (Sorry about not remembering your name!) were also professional & the nurse anesthetist went above & behind ensuring I had all the meds needed for comfort. I also want to thank my post op nurses Sylvia & Skye. Both took excellent care of me, were compassionate, patient & extremely helpful. I always try to be a cooperative, non-complaining patient, and only ask for anything I absolutely need (so I hope that helps them). They made me feel cared for & not like a number on a conveyor belt. I would absolutely, 100%, rec this facility if u need a surgical procedure. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again if my doctor is member.

Wish I could give this a negative rating. Back in Sept 2019, when I arrived they made me pay the balance that my insurance would not cover. Not a problem with that - I paid the balance. Yesterday I received a letter from a collection agency and my account was turned over to them. They said they just received my "case". I NEVER once received a bill from Sand Lake stating I owed them any money. Worst way to run an office!!!

request a different in network center from your surgeon's scheduler you have the right to pick another center and have the same procedure done and not deal with all these problems. I highly recommend you do that.read the reviews before you work with this location. They will overcharge you and do not care when you reach out. No review I have read has had results. When they connected me to the Blue Cross specific person to deal with it rings three times and goes to "This is a voicemail that has not been set up!" then hangs up on me and Blue Cross several times on Friday 3/18. I gave them $2600.00. Emptying the checking account my total out of pocket for the year They owe me $714. while injured without income I can not pay co-pay for my follow up's to get physical therapy now or with my surgeon and they do not care!!!3/29 update: They admit they owe me and refuse to pay me the cash they wrongly demanded before they would admit me for treatment. they are holding my $715. until Blue Cross pays them for the surgery and the funds clear. Once agin no compassion even though this is wrong am filing a small claim for treble damages in Orange County court. they will be required to pay for my transportation in a wheelchair and all fees with the court. DO YOU WANT TO BE RECOVERING FROM SURGERY WITH FINANCIAL CHALLENGES CAUSED BY THIS CENTER OR DO YOU CHOOSE TO STAND UP AND USE ANOTHER ?

I had surgery last Friday and was extremely pleased with the professionalism and efficiency that Sand Lake Surgery Center provided in my care. Everything was done exactly how they said from the contacting me prior to surgery, to the length of time I would be there and the follow up contacting. It has was reassuring the care from the front desk, to the pre surgery nurses to the surgical nurses that I was in great hands. The anestesiologist and nurse anesthetist were great also! Thank you for all the care you give. It was truly appreciated.
