Sebastian De La Fuente's Online Review Report Card

I was diagnosed with Stage I Pancreatic Cancer on January 6, 2023 and referred to Dr. Sebastian de La Fuente, an oncology surgeon, by my GI doctor. From our very first consultation with Dr. de La Fuente, my daughter and I were impressed by his compassion, empathy, and desire to help us navigate through this hitherto unknown medical situation. Dr. de La Fuente pulled up a stool and made eye contact with my daughter and me, smiled, and with a rare combination of humility and confidence, explained what my options were, and his plan of treatment for me. I felt totally at ease with him and trusted him immediately. Of course, I had already researched some of his patient reviews so I was not totally surprised by his excellent bedside manner. Dr. de La Fuente spoke to my daughter and me as if we were members of his own family, which dissipated some of the sheer terror I had been feeling since the diagnosis. He very patiently explained the surgery, hospital stay, the plan going forward, and answered all my questions with a gentleness that I appreciated. Together with his medical team, Dr. de La Fuente visited me in the hospital every day for the five days I was hospitalized. One morning, he arrived at the hospital right after doing another surgery, when he could so easily have gone home to get some rest. This is a testament of how much he cares for his patients. There are no words to sufficiently thank Dr. de La Fuente for his excellent care of me and for the respect and dignity with which he has treated my daughter and me. The only way I can think to repay Dr de La Fuente for his excellent care of me is to pray for him and his family. I am scheduled to have chemotherapy for six months and Dr. de La Fuente has offered to put in the port for the chemo for me, which is very comforting to me. May Almighty God continue to bless Dr. Sebastian de La Fuente and his family and continue to use him to heal patients. Thank you, Dr. de La Fuente.

Run don’t walk from Advent Health. After being told my husband didn’t have cancer 4 months ago they diagnosed him 4 weeks ago with pancreatic cancer and as of yet he still has not had any treatment. After being released from the hospital without being referred to the cancer center, we get the run around with each Dr he sees. 2 weeks to see the oncologist, 2 more weeks to get a consultation with Dr DeLaFuentes, after being told he would put the chemo port in, maybe they will get around to getting him some treatment after it’s too late. Go any where but Advent or any or their Doctors

Dr de la Fuente is an extremely knowledgeable physician & he’s always so patient with me during each of my office visits. He also makes sure he addresses each of my health concerns before I leave his practice. I would highly recommend him to anyone searching for quality healthcare!

Ousting provider all around

This Dr nor his staff deserve any stars. Dr. de La Fuente performed 3 surgeries on our mother in less than 3 months and all because he messed up from the first one. We trusted him & his staff with her and now she is no longer with us. I pray that you will NEVER be allowed to perform another surgery and cause this pain to another family. Your actions were reckless and inconsiderate. Shame on you!!!

Dr. De Le Fuente operated on me twice in July, to remove a fairly large skin cancer from my chest. From my first visit with him, I felt totally at ease and confident that I was in good hands. The first operation was to remove the cancer. After receiving a clear pathological assessment, the second surgery was to perform a skin grafts to close the wound. Dr.De Le Fuente kept me informed of every step of the process. He also made sure to include my wife in all of our conversations. Dr. De Le Fuente's people skills are right on par with his surgi surgical skills. In nearly 67 years, and ma many surgeries, he is the first doctor to call me personally to check on my well-being. This is something that is unheard of for most doctors, let alone a surgeon. I had my final visit with Dr.De Le Fuente this past week. Saying goodbye to him was like saying goodbye to a good friend. I thank him for his services, and wish him a long and successful career. Any person who has the need for his talents will be getting the very best care available.

Dr. De La Fuente is by far the best doctor/surgeon I have ever had. He is extremely professional and kind. He personally called my wife to update her on my condition, and called me after I got home from the hospital to see how I was feeling, and to update me; this is the first time a doctor has ever done this for me. If you ever need a surgeon this is the one you want. We are forever grateful for him and his staff.

Since 2012 have been put through meat grinder and felt like a surgical experiment for State of Florida UNTIL in June 2020 Dr. De La Fuente came in .... I thank God everyday for him , his team and staff .... I was in for 6 weeks and he plus team everyday ... He listened to me when countless doctors dismissed anything I said and did what they wanted instead .... He isnt in it for money he is in it because he cares and oath he took means more ...I finally have a proper diagnosis where ALL others failed and was right in front of THEIR faces ... I highly recommend him
