Tammy Mcdowell's Online Review Report Card

Dr McDowell has been our twins pediatrician from the moment of birth. She's always been attentive and caring to our girls. We were referred to her by two friends that were happy with her medical services. We're glad we chose her. Our girls love her.

Doctor McDonald has been our twins pediatrician from the moment of birth. Our girls were premature And required lots of medical attention. We were referred to doctor McDowell by a friend and we're happy to have chose her. We trust her decision. She has been a great Pediatrician throughout the year.

According to these reviews, I wish I had looked them over before taking my kids here. She's been our pediatrician for four years, and she has not ONCE greeted my children by name upon entering the room, and she speaks to us like she's a robot. She is passively polite, and doesn't really listen to and absorb what you have to say, and if she finds out your kids drink watered down apple juice over milk--forget it. (She didn't even acknowledge when we mentioned the yogurt and cheese they do eat.) And today, she called my average-weight two year old overweight. I thank God my child didn't hear her and/or doesn't understand what that means, but I will not be subjecting my children to her another visit longer, and I would suggest you avoid. She does not seem like she wants to be there, so why make her days any harder? I have visited another office with WARM service and the difference is striking. Trust me. Avoid. We are easy patients and parents. You deserve better service.

The Good-- She has a friendly disposition, is from the community she serves, and always run on time. I have never had to wait along time and have always been able to secure appointments both routine and acute. Friendly office staff and PA as well. The Bad: She tends to be very strict with weight, bedtime and exercise regimens, even when said child is deemed normal weight and healthy by her own standards. Sometimes it feels like she is judging the parent decisions on these matters and at every routine visit will tell you how she raised her kids and that they turned out great. I am happy for her, but when it is used to judge other parenting styles it is a real turn off to the point even my kid knows she is judging me. The office is close by and one of few who will take our insurance, and she does genuinely care about her patients, so I have remained with the practice thus far. She reminds me of a strict nun I had in Catholic school in the 80's,a little too firm but you know she cared.

She seems like she's doing everyone a favor by being there. No respect for parents concerns!! Plain rude.. she needs to retire!!

She is one of the absolute worst pediatricians in Central Fl. She is awful and her lack of intelligence in the medical field caused harm to our child. Do not risk your child’s safety with this “doctor.”

On today 7/28/2020 I called the office at 1100am to speak to a triage nurse about an on going health issue my daughter has been having because her symptoms were becoming worst, A very friendly lady took a message and said I would hear back from someone. I called back at 4pm when I hadn't heard back; The office closes at 5:30pm and just wanted to insure my message was received and someone would in fact return my call. I spoke with a different lady than before but she too was very friendly. She looked into it and told me she saw the call request in the system so I would receive a call. Well, here it is 8:30, three hours after closing and no call back! Just left urgent care and the ultimate kicker; My daughter just had to be treated for something that just five days ago Dr. McDowell said she didn't have. After being completely ignore when notifying the office of worsting symptoms we will not be returning.

Just go to someone else. I do not need someone telling me how to raise my kids especially when her comments conflict with Florida law, which I pointed out. All she had to do focus on the physical. Her perceived superiority is uncalled for and rude.

My son has been a patient with Dr McDowell for 17 years and I was treated so rudely when scheduling and appt today, I immediately cancelled appt and took him to emergency room to get the care he deserved without attitude. Tammy is a wonderful doctor but the staff needs help .

I went for my son's two months appointment and I was surprised to see how rude Dr tammy was! I asked her to check my son's tongue as I was worried about a small white spot and she said he doesn't have nothing (after looking for 10 seconds) and then after she left I asked the nurse to check again and she came back furious and said lay him down quickly for me. And then she checked so irritated and said " he doesn't have nothing" and left. NEVER COMING BACK The nurse wasn't kind too. But the doctor was THE WORSE.
