Thomas Blake's Online Review Report Card

Dr. Blake performed two colonoscopies on my father, a Vietnam Veteran. Subsequently, another colorectal doctor performed a colonoscopy on my father. The second doctor said Dr. Blake had left 10 year old polyps in my father’s colon. These polyps were never removed. His medical care was highly negligent. My father entrusted him to give good care and my father deserves good care. I would not trust Dr. Blake with my dog. His patient care was less than stellar as well. His communication an follow up care were poor.

Ordered more costly tests that were of no use and refused to do a colonscopy prior to surgery to identify what procedure was actually necessary.

Dr. Blake is a wonderful doctor. He not only did my surgery but my husband's as well.

Dr. Blake is amazing, He performed successful colon surgery on me and removed a tumor. I have been truly blessed to know him and have him as my digestive doctor. Amen.

We were referred to Dr. Thomas Blake, III by two of my mother's current physicians for a surgery consult. An initial consultation appointment was scheduled for the next day. Upon arriving at the office we were greeted by the office staff who were warm and friendly. Dr. Blake spoke with us in his office first and never rushed us and answered every question. Following an examination, we were again brought into his office and Dr. Blake explained in detail his recommendations for surgery, the prep, the procedure in detail, her condition before and after surgery and again answered every question we had. He then went over each of the pre-op forms with my mother himself and answered her questions patiently and in detail. Dr. Blake is kind, patient and we are very glad that he was the doctor we were referred to.

Dr. Blake is an amazing, skilled and gifted surgeon. He explained every question I had. His instructions and follow up up meds were perfect. I would absolutely recommend him. His staff is helpful and knowledgeable. If you have to wait...it is because he is giving his all to a fellow patient....

If you need surgery I would be more concerned with a dr's surgical skills than bedside manner and office staff. Dr. Blake is an excellent surgeon, board certified in colon and rectal surgery. He should be your first choice if you need surgery. I had colon surgery, he was able to do a less invasive procedure and I recovered quickly!

I can see why some patients feel that the receptionist and staff may not be extremely friendly. The receptionist is under the orders of the office manager to not get things done for you such as papers for your insurance company or employer immediately without the OK of the office manager so she may not be that tactful. They do however take care of those concerns pretty promptly and you do not have to ask twice. They deal with patients who may have life-threatening problems and so they may not seem happy all the time. - But all I can say is Dr. Blake saved my wife's life twice. He is an excellent surgeon and very friendly once you get to know him. Perhaps lacking a little in "bedside manners" but he is a terrific person and devoted to his profession and you as a patient.
