List of William Jeter's Reviews
I have been seeing Dr. Jeter, along with my family members for multiple years. He is an amazing doctor and I highly recommend. Being a student, with life altering events occurring in my life, he has continued to support my family and I. He maintains to be professional and never discusses my information with my family, vice versa. Dr. Jeter makes sure to ask how my personal life is going, not only prescribing medications. Doctor jeter genuinely cares for his patients and listens to them and their concerns. The medications he prescribes are accurate and helpful. Any mental diagnoses require trial and error on medications. When one medication isn’t working, inform Dr. Jeter and his assistant and they are quick to respond to your needs.
Be Knowlegeable This psychiatrist is not experienced nor well educated in major psychiatric illnesses nor medications. He 'tries' newer psychiatric medications on his patients without considering the proper indications for use. If you have a disorder that benefits from talk therapy, he may be somewhat capable BUT if your illness requires medication, be very careful! You are assured to get worse. This office is not client friendly also! There are many other better psychiatrists in Central Florida!
I usually don't write reviews . I just googled Dr. Jeter because I needed the address. I saw so many negative reviews. I don't know what the problems are of those poor reviews . Dr jeter and his staff have always been very professional and kind . I'm not sure what the other reviewers wanted but the staff is amazing. I travel a lot internationally and they work with me to get my scrips and continued care.Dr Jeter is really an excellent doctor and very empathetic during our conversation. His assistant is also so caring and sweet . The office doesn't accept my insurance, so I pay private . It's expensive but I feel that the quality of care justifies the cost.
I have been seeing Dr. Jeter for about 6 years now. He is FANTASTIC. See below for my comments on the staff at the office he works at as well. I saw a few providers before him, and they were terrible fits for me. They did not listen, they put the onus on me to decide my meds, they felt my case was too complex, etc. If you look at your insurance claims, psychiatrists bill for your visit and then for a short period of "psychotherapy" or basically counseling-lite haha. Not full-on therapy. Dr. Jeter is the first psychiatrist I have had that provided this service by checking in on how I have been doing personally, asking about current situations that could be affecting my symptoms and how I am coping with them. He includes me in the decisions on medications and how I feel, but I am never left feeling like I am the one who has to decide what might work best for me. Under his care, I have felt the most stable in my life. And while, I currently have TRD, he has given me the opportunity and support to try new medications. At the beginning of my time seeing him, the place he works at, APGHealth, was HORRIBLE. They had zero customer service skills, you could not get things done, there was no follow-through, it was almost impossible to get someone on the phone, billing was messed up regularly, etc. HOWEVER. Within the last 1-2 years, they have improved tremendously. They are kind and helpful. I get fairly prompt responses when I need assistance through my portal or over the phone. Billing is occasionally still incorrect (watch your account + insurance claims), but they fix it quickly. Dr. Jeter's assistant Joi is BEYOND helpful. She is very kind and will help you however she can. The portal is the best way to get in touch with staff (they forward the messages to the right person), but they will help via phone as well. I recommend Dr. Jeter to anyone that needs a competent, compassionate psychiatrist who is also up on the latest research and is not afraid to try new combinations or new medications with you to get you the help you need. I 100% trust him.
Dr Jeter Have been a patient since 2013, he is a Pull Pusher, now since he is no longer my doctor, and have gotten off an outrageous amount of pills, feel much better. Getting off the medications took 2 years, horrible sweats, panic attacks, feeling like I was going crazy. Now doing much better. Beware
Please think twice about going to this doctors office if you have a major psychiatric disorder or complicated illness . His office staff is quick to say their practice only takes those with minor psychiatric conditions. The office Medical Director is ineffective and only "present" in name only. Dr. Jeter does not recognize signs of depression, hypomania, or mania. He orders medications recklessly, over prescribes, and balks at the idea of tapering meds causing life-threatening side effects. Only go to him if you want to risk losing your job or life.
Please do not go to this psychiatrist if you have bipolar disorder. He does not recognize signs of this illness nor does he prescribe meds correctly. He uses antidepressants with bipolar depression and when mania occurs, he provides NO medication changes to treat the mania. He appears to not recognize that mania and hypomania exist. My family member almost lost their job, souse, and life because of his incompetence.
This psychiatrist does not provide safe psychiatric care. He prescribes medications that are not advisable for the specific condition. Then, when a life-threatening side effect occurs ...his comment is "it's too dangerous to take him off the med". He admits he doesn't know how to taper a patient off meds. There are patients that he has never seen in office, even when they are in crisis. All good psychiatrists have at least a one hour initial visit. And, his office manager doesn't belong in a psychiatry office ...it really isn't appropriate for her to tell a concerned family member reporting suicidal ideations that "you need to learn boundaries". Run away as quick as you can from Dr. Jeter!!
Medication Concerns This physician lacks the ability to manage those with bipolar disorder. He does not recognize signs of mania and left me untreated for weeks while my livelihood, marriage, and life were at stake. He cited 'legal concerns' for reasons he wouldn't decrease or increase or change medications. I only ever had virtual appointments with him and it was extremely difficult to see him in person when in crisis. After I had been under his care for 2 years, his office manager 'kindly' told me that their office is really an ambulatory center that doesn't treat those with major psych illnesses. Fortunately, I got the strength to leave his care and have another doctor now cleaning up the mess from him. He's a very dangerous doctor to go to if you have a major psychiatric disorder requiring medication.
Dr Jeter is a fantastic doctor. He has helped me get my condition under control and I’m not sure I could have done that without his expertise, caring, and kindness. His staff is extremely kind and available to help when I’ve needed an emergency appointment and have always made it happen. It’s been over 3 years with Dr J ( I had a previous Dr before moving to Orlando) and I feel lucky to have found him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
