Always listens and explains very thoroughly. The staff is always friendly and very helpful. I would highly recommend Dr Chewning.

My absolute favorite office. Anybody bc ch as ages I run all procedures by them. It’s a win win with this office!

Needed a laminectomy for about 5 years. I put it off repeatedly since my husband has a narcissistic personality and I knew he would not give me care post-op. I had shared this with the Doctor before our next scheduled appointment. When my doctor said that my surgery was “a serious procedure” and I “would be better recovering at an inpatient facility, where I would be treated like a queen and could recover quickly.” Also, “ just let the office know when your surgery is and we will take care of everything else”. I was elated when I walked out. I couldn't wait to schedule the surgery. I became concerned when I didn't see anything about this in the notes sent to me from the Doctor. I emailed the office, who replied that the doctor would advocate for me but I had to get the paperwork from the facility and bring it to the doctors office. It took me about two more weeks for a facility to contact me only to tell me that I was not eligible for inpatient care since the procedure was day surgery. I wrote an email to the doctor and never received a reply. I wrote a personal letter to the doctor and he did not respond. My surgery was 11/9/21. It has been a difficult recovery so far, since I have not had much assistance. I dont feel the doctor was very honest with me.

Had Been a patient for about 8 years even through Covid I went for annual they ordered tests I got the tests never heard a thing. flash forward to 2022 I had given blood and bring in all the test results and she literally trashed them after making me wait 1.5hrs for the appointment and HERE IS THE PROBLEM - Chewning is my Doctor not this person IDK who she is or why she's so self centered - It's a Medical Degree and you're not a Demi God bottomline they called and said they wanted me to take a statin and we've had this conversation before I said no and they now REFUSE TO TREAT ME - They Dropped me as a Patient and I guess it's just as well because I don't trust them. Very Pill Pushing and they got mad I didn't want Pain meds for my Knees but Surgery - Be Careful

Thoroughly enjoy Dr. Chewning. He actually listeners to your concerns and talks to you with options and he never makes you feel rushed. That being said he is usually always running behind but when he is with you you have his full attention!! He has a great sense if humor which helps to lighten difficult situations.

Dr Chewning is a compassionate, caring physician who genuinely is concerned about the patients he sees. He treats us like real everyday people and talks with us as such. It’s almost as though he is speaking with us as a neighbor or a friend with his “ok, here’s the deal.” approach with practicing his medicine. I have gone in to see him several times with a variety of issues from mild to severely concerning and he has always addressed my concerns resulting in a variety of different options for treatment which is one of the things I really liked about him. He provides me with each option; the benefits, consequences, and/or side effects for choosing each one, and then partners with me in selecting the best one that suits me and my lifestyle. Being a DO, he has a large breadth of expertise, so I feel so comfortable talking with him about many concerns with the added benefits of not having to always be referred to a specialist, although when we start to cross into territory where he feels like one is needed, he is first to let me know and his staff happily provides one before I depart. His office works so well with other offices too. Speaking of the office, the office is filled with vibrancy and joy as a happy place to work, and sometimes if you’re lucky enough, and you’re timing is right, you may be invited to a doughnut with Dr Chewning, himself, like I was before my last appointment when some were brought into the office like I was one day so we could snack on one during my appointment. I mean, how down to earth is that? Before I had one, he even remembered that I couldn’t have a cinnamon one because I was allergic to cinnamon. Pretty cool that he knew my allergy somehow before reading my chart just by looking at me. How many people must he see in a day? He is very expressive with his advice about how to stay protected from COVID-19 and is passionate from his first hand experience. I pay attention to this and share this with my family and friends to spread the education around. As a result, he has saved many lives, no-doubt. I fully recommend this doctor as my primary care doctor and hope you will give him a try as I have had my entire family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and the rest of my family switch from their current offices in the local area to join Black Sheep Medical and all are happy with “Chewning” as they call him, from his personality to the medicine he practices, A+s all the way across the board. Hope you’ll heed my advice too. If Dr Chewning is not available, the Nurse Practitioners are fabulous as well and I trust them too. You can tell Dr Chewning certainly had his hand in picking them out as well.
