List of John Wassenaar's Reviews
It honestly hurts my soul to have to write this review. Dr Wassenaar is an amazing doctor who has helped me tremendously. He has honestly probably saved my life with his knowledge and his care. But all good things must come to an end. The office staff is horrible. Absolutely sickeningly horrible. I submitted a release of documents for my child as what the office manager will say was April 30th, I am writing this May 24th. My child has to go to a pediatric rheumatologist in Orlando - because SMH and ACH has completely gone down the drain, but that’s a whole different issue. I called several times. Her appointment is for the first week of June, the office that we are having to go to in Orlando has told me that their system takes 3-4 working business days (9-5) to obtain records and upload them to the patient portal. I called yesterday and talked to the office manager for probably the hundredth time. She is just a terrible, rude, obnoxious person who has hung up on me several times. I was told that I had to COME IN to get her records. We live in Port Charlotte and are transitioning to other care anyway due to that, but this whole encounter just cuts the cake. My husband calls after she hung up on me, after I told her what medical records we needed, where to send them to, tried to give her the fax number. Yanno what she did? She didn’t ask him to receive a fax, she didn’t ask him to fax anything back, she didn’t ask him to log into the portal, she said I’ll send them if you never come back here again. !!! I’ve been a patient of Wassenaars since 1990. It is now 2023.
Dr. Wassenaar is really very special. He has been our doctor for over twenty years and it feels likes he's family.
My background is hospital administration with a healthcare practitioner education. As such, I worked with all specialties of healthcare providers to insure patients consistently received the highest standard of medical care. Dr Wassenaar never compromised meeting patient, or patient supporters, needs. He was, is and always has been a role model for other medical care providers. Dr Wassenaar’s support staff, beginning with his nurse, Severine, reflect the same level of care. One is fortunate to call him, “My physician”.
I’ve been to a lot of doctors in my short 21 years, and Dr. Wassenaar has hands-down been the best. So attentive to each patient and goes above and beyond always. Will never be able to thank him enough for all he’s done and continues to do for me and my fiancé’s family. Always recommend him.
Great Dr, and pediatrician. He gave birth to my 28 year old son. He has been my GP ever since then
I have been a patient of Dr. Wassenaar for many years. He is an excellent physician. Very kind, listens to and cares about his patients.
Great Doctor.
Dr Wassenaar has been taking care of my family for many years and is a wonderful primary care physician
Fantastic compassionate physician who cares about you and your family. Has been my advocate for years. I have total trust in his judgement and competence as a practitioner of medicine and of family medicine. I love dr. Wassenaar for the whole family experience. Recommend him highly.
Remarkable competence, genuine patient compassion and surrounded by a staff of true professionals.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
