Florida Cancer Specialists And Research Institute's Online Review Report Card

In November 2019 I got the news that no one wants to get – cancer. I was diagnosed with Stage 3 tonsil cancer and liver cancer. Treating cancer takes a team of doctors nurses technicians and support staff at multiple locations. Over the last year an important part of my team has been Dr. Rasha Beg at Florida Cancer Specialists in Oviedo FL. I am happy and proud to have Dr. Beg and her staff at Florida Cancer Specialists fighting for me.It has been a scary journey and it continues. Throughout my treatment Dr. Beg and the professionals at Florida Cancer Specialists kept me informed of what I was going to go through what to expect the effects of my treatment to be and provided detailed explanations of the therapies and treatments I was to undergo. Their interactions with me where always done with compassion and understanding. As part of what I would call an A++ team Dr. Beg and her staff engaged with the rest of my treatment team and each engagement was timely comprehensive and resulted in clear understandings and issues resolution. Dr. Beg and her staff have been nothing short of excellent. Dr. Beg Denise Tanya Emma and the whole office have been kind understanding and made me feel at ease with my treatment. Their compassion and friendly demeanor equally match their professionalism and competence.I wish no one ever had to get a cancer diagnosis. I wish cancer were magically eradicated. Sadly wishing and magic are not strategies for fighting cancer. Part of the strategy for fighting is having a great medical team fighting with you. Great staff wonderful treatment

I was VERY disappointed with my experience with this group. The first appointment went fine. I was then asked to do a 24hr urine collection. After two full weeks of calling and asking for the results which I was told I would have in approx 48 hrs. I finally just stopped in to the Oviedo office and asked them for the results. They told me that the urine collection I dropped off wasnt good for some reason and I needed to repeat it again. But they never called to tell me I had to redo the collection and I have no idea if they ever would have. I did the collection again. AGAIN no phone call with the results. I was told the results would be in within 48 hours. I gave them over a week. I finally again had to go into their office to obtain the results. When a person is waiting on what could be a potentially lifechanging diagnosis this is completely unacceptable. My nerves were so bad I broke out in hives. Thankfully all is okay but it sure wouldve been nice to have known that in less than a months time for a test which the results returned in 2448 hrs. I then called and asked for a copy of my blood work and the urinalysis report to be mailed to me. I was assured they would do this. Its been 3 weeks and nothing. I called again today and was told contradictory information that they cannot mail them that I have to go into the office to pick them up. Every other doctors office I go to have been able to mail me a copy of my labs. I get its a HIPA thing but why wasnt I told this the first time I called? While the front office staff are friendly enough dealing with this group has been a very frustrating experience.
