Nancy Thornton's Online Review Report Card

Went to see Dr. Thornton for my 2nd year annual exam. She's very thorough and really cares about my health, reminding me of what other test (eg. skin test) I should consider on an annual basis. I really like her, I felt very comfortable during the exam. Also the front desk is very nice. I got a call a couple days before my appointment as a reminder.

I've been going to Dr Thornton now for over 5 years, she is very good,So good that she doesn't currently take my insurance but for the last 3 years I've been going as a self-pay patient (more than once a year)and I'd rather get good and logical doctor to speak to me than to see a doctor referred to me by my insurance who won't spend 10 minutes with me (in a big box practice)who doesn't understand that sometimes you need to be explained things a little further and try different things. Kudos to her her and her Team

I normally do not write reviews but this so called receptionist was SO RUDE. I had to. I met with doctor Thornton once and she was very helpful. I wanted to go see her again for a follow-up but had moved since my last visit and this receptionist was super rude about a co-pay I wasn't even aware of. I paid it then inquired if the doctor had a website she then informed me she was the only way to get a hold of the doctor. Not only is she rude but also violates HIPPA by releasing medical information over the phone. Needless to say I did not schedule a follow-up but will not be recommending anyone else to this office.

I'm a new patient and I'm very impressed on how detailed she is. She answered all my questions and more. She is the best I've had, very thorough and provided a lot of information. My annual exam went well. The front desk is friendly.

Strange business practices. Billing issues and they answer their phone rarely. I would avoid people who don't let patients know that their appointment isn't covered by their insurance so they have the choice to hire that doctor or not. It doesn't seem honest. No way to leave a voicemail message or email anyone. I have no complaints and nothing to report about the doctor, it was a quick visit and she seemed to not want to be there but did what I needed done- an annual checkup. I gave my insurance info to the office. My insurance was verified at the time of the appointment. Then, they billed me for the whole cost of the appointment. When I called later to figure out why, I was finally told that the office verified the dr was in network at the time of my visit, but that that was a mistake. My doctor is out of network. They said that I would only need to pay $25, not the full amount because there was a mistake made. The office also asked me to contest the claim denial with my insurance, which I did, but this was request was denied because this doctor was never in network and said it's the provider's responsibility to confirm the insurance is in network through the availity system. Now, I'm told that I am responsible for the full amount. This was a very disappointing experience.

I have found the best gynecologist ever when I was recommended by a friend to see Dr Thornton. She is thorough, patient, cares about me, and follows up to see how I’m doing. She is so kind and sincere. I am grateful to have found her.

I didn't even get a chance to met the Doctor. The day of my appointment, their office was not open yet when I called. Through the night I had horrible stomach virus. I called and left a voicemail around 7am on way to ER (again their offices not open yet) to cancel. They never called me back to reschedule. I called a week later to reschedule, once my life got back on track, and was told "we don't check voicemails" adding "so you are a no show and the doctor wont see you because of that." In what kind of world, especially towards the end of a pandemic is this even acceptable! To clarify if you have an emergency, say projectile vomiting, save yourself the trouble and go projectile vomit on your OBGYN staff. Horrible customer services!

She and Chris are the BEST! I had an appt scheduled on my calendar today but it wasn't on theirs! Anyway, Chris got me in and taken care of. She is extremely efficient and Doc is thorough, pleasant and cares about her patients.

Dr. Thornton was the most attentive and caring doctor I have ever been in contact with. She handled the loss of my first pregnancy just a week after the passing of my grandfather, without even knowing I was handling not one loss, but 2. Her bedside manner and overall attention to me not only medically, but emotionally was something no amount of money can ever give. She went on to care for me and deliver both of my sons, one in August, 2002 and the other in December, 2003. Both pregnancies were touchy, but we delivered 2 very healthy and beautiful babies. My love for Dr. Thornton is ongoing everyday I look at what she helped bring to life. My children. Without her kindness, compassion and expertise they would not be here. Thank you is all I can say.
