List of Philippe Martineau's Reviews
He has always made time for me. I’ve been with him for a few years now. I don’t trust primary care physicians but I absolutely trust him with my medical care. General practitioners shouldn’t be giving out mental health medications.
Had care for almost 10 years! Moved to Washington State.....wanna move here, Dr. Martineau??? You do!! Come on, you know you do!! Really miss you!
Dr. Martineau, whom I refer to lovingly as just "Doc," is a fantastic physician & a man of great character. I can always count on his sage advice & words of wisdom. His memory is exceptional!! He recalls more about my life than even I do sometimes! Also, I must mention his Office Manager is extremely helpful & empathetic. Her advice & assistance has been invaluable too. She's extremely perceptive & always super polite & kind. Overall, I have been more than been satisfied w/Doc & his office over the past 7+ years. I remember going to see 2 or 3 other Psychiatrists before Doc. But, the moment I met Doc, I knew I had to look no further. I highly recommend both Doc & his staff.
Difficult to put into words how AMAZING Dr. Martineau is as a doctor and as a person but I can tell you why both he and his staff stand out. First of all, the staff, friendly and personable, huge when you are in need of help and unsure about your new doctor! They take interest in you and go out of their way to help!! It is a tight knit, family run practice and I believe this makes a huge difference. They go out of their way to help with any assistance you need. Same is true of Dr. Martineau also. He is so easy to talk to and I am always amazed at how well he listens & actually remembers about my personal life. He helped me to set goals and along the way, when I forgot, he was there to remind me. But he is always open to making adjustments and he has this unusual insight that truly helps when you are trying to process your experience. He is super knowledgeable about pharmacology, and yet, is interested in how meds work for you personally. He is the reason I have made milestones in my progress!! And again, his staff, has been a part of that also! He is so good in fact my dad has started seeing him for issues related to a new diagnosis of cancer. Absolutely trust him and recommend him for anyone seeking treatment!
I am Bipolar 1. While I’ve had it my entire life, I wasn’t correctly diagnosed until I was 35. It took another 10 years, after countless medications & 5 different psychiatrists over that time, to FINALLY get my medication RIGHT…& it was Dr. Martineau who did that for me. Not only that, he is kind, gracious, & compassionate & always responds when I need him. His intelligence, knowledge, & experience mixed with those attributes has literally both saved & changed my life.
After seeing this position since 2019, I just tried to confirm notes with him and his treatment for me over the years. Dr. got so frustrated that he hung up the phone on me. I’ve never had a physician raise their voice or hang up as a professional in my life. This doctor used to be a fantastic office and practice until you may need physician notes documents etc. His temperament as a physician is alarming. Especially dealing with psychiatry and multiple disease states. He will pick and choose which disease say he says he is treating and works best for him. Very polite office though
Very compassionate Doctor. Knowledgeable and responsive. May God Bless him, his family and staff.
Yes, I would recommend him to family and friends. Sometimes but not often pre-pandemic I had to wait not longer than 30 minutes to see him at a scheduled office appt. But that was because an earlier patient took a longer time for his/her visit. When extra time was warranted for my needs Dr. M did not rush me either and took the extra time with me. Because I work full time, most often I take a last appt. in the afternoon either by phone (post-pandemic) or in person (pre-pandemic) and that last appointment in the day is most likely to be delayed. Post-pandemic he is always prompt to call me at my scheduled time. I like talking to him by phone; it's efficient and I don't have to miss work or leave work early and do not have a drive time to his office and back to mine. Dr. M. has only 1 assistant in his office, so she has a big load to handle with appointments and RX refills. The "no refills on Friday policy" in effect is a good idea--it probably prevents overdoses or carelessness.
The receptionist is super rude. I initially had called to make an appointment, but would rather not. I'd suggest getting a new receptionist to take new patients and appointments or else you won't have any new ones coming in. Terrible first impression
Just called now to make an appt for a new patient and check ins. Was told they don’t take any form of Florida Blue. I said I was looking at the website and all were listed. I was told they were on Florida Blue website, I said I was on the Drs website, not F.B. I was told he didn’t have a web site.😂 I WAS READING IT....??????

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
