List of Akila Iyer's Reviews
Dr. Iyer saw me one time, the office called me to tell me she would be on "vacation" and could I change my blood work and other necessary items for her, as a new patient. I asked when she would be returning, and the office, who was quite unhelpful, said they did not know. I asked two or three weeks? They said no more like three months. Very unprofessional way of handling patients. I must say there were two doctors when I had problems with my health I would have preferred to see, but they did not accept my insurance. Very unfortunate, because she would have been a good physician, but who goes on vacation for three months and leaves her office unattended with rude, not intelligent office staff? There was one lady, who was helpful in the beginning, but I believe she quit once the doctor chose to take such a long vacation. SAD
She is kind and extremely thorough. She will call you unlike many who have assistant call. In short SHE ROCKS!..would recommend highly.
She is thorough & Caring. She's hard working and even returns phone calls in the evening after 6pm.
Dr Ilyer is a wonderful knowing doctor . She does well and always knows what is for you ... You are in great care with Dr.
I visited her about a year ago or so, and had a bad experience. I visited to talk about an irritation near my palm that was preventing me from functional use of my hand. She focused on what she wanted to focus on, topics completely unrelated to my palm. She turned the meeting into a physical and decided to lecture me on healthy living for 30 minutes. I have never been back to see her and have decided to change my PCP.
HORRIBLE OFFICE! Dr may be good, but when I show up with my 84 year old mother to the hospital for a procedure and the referral was not done properly so we're told to go home, that is UNACCEPTABLE!!!! I took a half day off of work for this and they submitted the referral with the wrong location and couldn't correct it. Is the office staff lazy or incompetent. Either way it's not good. Beware this business with constant referral, run around, and incompetence.
This is my primary care physician and as such indurance covers much of the cost, so it is difficult to discuss price range but I would say middle range, no doctor with an office is cheap. I enjoy visiting this offive because Dr. Iyer lidtens to what I have to say and works with me on making my health the best possible.
I went with my dad for his last appointment and was impressed with the bedside manner, time spent going over labs, medications and any issues. Dr. Iyer has even called my dad herself with bloodwork results which was very surprising to me cause most MDs require you to come in office. You can tell she truly cares for her patients. I wish this office would take my insurance cause I would totally switch!
Very good, thorough and excellent patient attentiveness. Highly recommend.
I’ve had this doctor as my PCP and been visiting for past 8 odd months regarding a fistula I’ve had. Originally when I started visiting this was just an abscess but not sure due to lack of what my condition was not treated properly and now this had grown to a fistula and the infection spread to my internal muscle. Personally, I’ve had a bad experience and changed my PCP.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
