Jawahar Taunk's Online Review Report Card

Be afraid, be very afraid of this Doctor Jawahar L. Taunk Do not walk away, run away while you still can. This man damaged me horrifically in a botched IRC procedure and then threw me out of his practice when I questioned the damage he had done to me. This doctor turned my life into a living nightmare that you cannot possibly imagine. Save yourself, save the ones you love boycott this doctors practice.

I went to Dr. Taunks office as a new patient July 29 2021 with GERD, Dysphagia, upper abdominal pain and a lipoma. I had been to the emergency room and advised to immediately see a Gastroenterology. Dr. Taunks office was nearby. Dr. Taunk advised me upon meeting that he would not speak with me until after he evaluated my medical history. He spoke in to a recording device for at least 15 minutes while reading my records as I sat and waited. When he finished he told me that I was a good candidate for a medical trial he was conducting and was very fortunate to be considered. He advised he would be performing a endoscope free of charge but would need me to stop MY medication 2 weeks prior to the procedure and i would only be taking a non FDA approved drug that was seeking approval. I did not ask to be considered for a clinical trial however his recommendation to participate was emphatic. His empathy is non existent. Understand I was in severe pain, taking Pantoprozole and Lidocaine to manage symptoms and pain but he wanted me to stop because it would have conflicted with the terms of the trial. Feeling pressured and overwhelmed I agreed to participate in the study however the next day found the fortitude to cancel my inclusion and find another Physician. I thought we had concluded our interaction however I was recently advised that I was overcharged for my visit and my flexible spending account has been suspended until the matter is resolved. I have called his office and billing department but cant seem to to get assistance in resolving the matter. Its unsurprising that this is how his office is managed. Most recently I've left a message with his office manager that has gone unanswered. I will dispute this with my insurance provider and complain to the medical board.

I'm not sure what the negitave reviews are talking about here. I've been seeing Dr. Taunk for about 6 months now. Our very first meeting he did make me cry but that's because I'M having issues and I think I was frustrating him by not answering direct questions even though I was trying. He promptly grabbed my hands and started rubbing my back and told me to breath and everything would be ok. He's STILL working on fixing me, but at 43 with severe issues popping up everywhere it's not an easy task. BUT, he hasn't given up yet and I still get hand pats and a loving shoulder pat everytime I see him now. Bottom line: everyone has bad days, even doctor's. They are human too.

Dr, Taunk has taken care of my problems for 3 plus years now. Although he is not real talkative, he is very smart! I have no complaints and I will continue with him as long as I have the needs.

Horrible communication- definitely recommend going someplace else.

Absolute worst doctor. My husband went in with gastro concerns and wasted 1.5 hours just WAITING to see the doctor. When he finally got into the exam room, his exam was rushed and his concerns were completely dismissed. Wrote a prescription for an antacid even though my husband wasn’t there for reflux issues. Obviously overbooked himself and just threw a random prescription at my husband. Never experienced such lazy, incompetent doctoring and I suggest you avoid Dr. Taunk at all costs.

Dr Taunk has changed my life for the better. I’ve had severe stomach pain for most of my life and he is fixing my problems that many doctors have not. They’ve all given up on me or just told me to eat better, but not Dr Taunk.. He is extremely patient, well spoken, easy to talk to, kind, and smart. He really listens to everything you have to say. He performed an endoscopy for me and got me on the right path. Him and his staff have really helped me. I recommend anyone to see him! Thank you Dr Taunk for being the best gastro there is!

Went to doc and they scheduled procedure. They scheduled 3 months out, then called to say they had earlier opening which I took. Did prep and went to hospital and they scheduled me at hospital that didn’t take my insurance. Scheduling lady is very rude and scarcastic. No apologies either

Very thorough

I have been going to this doctor for years and I would highly suggest him. He is very thorough, especially if you are having bowel issues.
