Seeing a primary care physician is about building a relationship with a provider you know and trust to have your best interests in mind and can handle a variety of complex medical diagnoses. To endure a dismissive attitude by a professional, such as Dr. Kleinbart, who society holds physicians as the ultimate arbiter of health knowledge, does a serious disservice to those for who these illnesses are very real. Find a physician to manage your care who cares about you as a person, who believes you and respects your knowledge of your body’s needs. This should be mandatory for a primary physician who is caring for patients with medical complexities and chronic illness.
