List of Brian Shaheen's Reviews
Dr. Shaheen was my PCP from my move to PCB,Fl over 7 years. Ascension was not fair to his patients. They provided no prior notice that he was leaving and their promise to provide a new doctor was not honored. GREAT DOCTOR was lost to his patients. Extremely UNHAPPY with Ascension Health. Actively looking for new primary!
Update: I still love Dr. Shaheen and think he is the greatest. His office manager Terry should be fired from customer service and healthcare altogether. He ruined this wonderful practice. Their “reply” to my review amounted to nothing. They never followed up with me. This doctor’s office has left me without medication and not enough time to find a new doctor and get my prescriptions refilled because I came down with COVID. I have been abandoned with no recourse. I will be calling the state to file a complaint and will not drop this. Having to reschedule two to three appointments (appointments were not back to back as I was accused) over the course of two years (with more than twenty four hours notice) is NOT grounds to abandon your patients. I’m still fuming over the male at the front desk who laughed like a hyena when I questioned why I was being dropped. Steer clear of this place. UPDATE: I followed their link and submitted report. I’ll update here if anything comes from it. Forgot to mention, I was told I missed three appointments in a row by the laughing man on staff. It isn’t true. I missed one because I had been sick and needed labs done before my appointment. I had just seen the doctor and was given new meds at my previous appointment. I had an appointment already scheduled for September and while I’m waiting on refills, they instead cancel me and remove me as a patient. Love the doctor but was cancelled as a patient after calling in to reschedule three (only two with this doctor-one was with previous doctor) appointments (they were not consecutive appointments, and I always called in advance so they could fill the spot) so they have now cancelled my next appointment and refuse to fill my meds. No one notified me. So much for all my family going to one doctor. I now get to move myself, my mom, and my husband to another office. Office manager (Terry) repeatedly laughed at me when I called to question what happened. As a nurse, his behavior was rude and unprofessional. I loved this doctor and his nurse. It’s a shame I’m punished for doing what I thought was right….. one cancelled for being extremely sick, one because my son was in ICU, and a third because my mom had surgery and I couldn’t leave her…. But they were notified well in advance. I’m angry.
Dr. Shaheen is always very caring and no matter how busy he is he will always take the time to answer all your questions.
Dr. Shaheen listens, and he cares. He advises on overall health and lifestyle changes that can contribute to a better quality of life verses some doctors that just throw medications at people.
Worst Doctor and staff now are the worst
Only a PA at location not a true MD as stated and the reason I selected this office. This caused a major issue when my husband went to his visit and needed scripts refilled since we recently relocated to PCB. I do not recommend this office to anyone who has to take any medication.
Not once in 4+ years did I ever have a physical exam. Kicked me out because I said to receptionist, you mean I'm going to have to go 2 Fn weeks without my meds. I believe the rude receptionist, dyka, which hung up on me and obviously must have lied to the supposed doctor and he kicked me out...wow. But it was a blessing because I now have an amazing doctor and firs time in the office he said, get up on the table and the second. Never was asked to get on exam table at Shaheen's/sacred heart office. Really sacred heart should reimburse my insurance every dollar I was charged.
Great exam table manner. Listens to you. Takes his time with each patient. Sympathetic. Ascension lost a great doctor.
I will praise Dr. Shaheen until I’m blue in the face but the office staff he has assigned to him now (outside of his regular part time nurse) is the worst with communication. They lack understanding, and do not care about what an emergency situation means to the patient. I’d like to say that Valerie helped me out, but every time I physically show up for an appointment the look of disgust on her face makes me feel subhuman, simply because I had Covid. I’ve never felt more disrespected from a Dr’s staff, and hate the thought of having to change primary’s but enough is enough.
I have been a nurse for over 7 years, and my experience with Dr. Shaheen was superb. His genuine bedside manner and listening ability is a rarity nowadays, and he displays a genuine interest in addressing every aspect of his patient's health. I have traveled for work and seen primary care doctors in 7 different states, and many of them rush through the appointment or are uninterested in delving into details of your health. Dr. Shaheen demonstrated a keen ability to maintain awareness of the latest research in various areas of health, and he is willing to take the time to explore and research the specific questions you may have. It is also clear that he maintains a mentally and physically healthy lifestyle himself, which is important in the realm of teaching and encouraging patients. Dr. Shaheen is one of the best family medicine doctors I have had the pleasure to visit.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
