List of Margaret Williams Thirston's Reviews
I visited Dr. Thurstons office last January for several back paid. She did an examination and said she would need new x-rays and her staff would set up an appointment. Hospital never called. I ended up having to buy a flight to Columbus OH to see me regular pain doctor who gave me injections in my lower back. The injections worked as always and last about 7-10 months. My back pain is back to being chronic. My PCP sent a referral to Dr. Thurstons office a week ago. I followed up today. The person who answered the phone couldn’t be heard because her radio was so loud. After 8 minutes of being on hold another gentleman jumped on the phone and ask what I needed. He had no idea why I was calling and said we saw you last year. Very unprofessional staff. Moving on.
I started seeing her about 4 years ago and she has been great help to me in more ways than pain. She noticed my heart was not beating like it should and got me into a heart doctor ASAP. She has gone above and beyond what a pain doctor should be. I have move out of state and miss her very much..Thanks you Doctor Thirston for all you have done for me.. Bob G.
Arrogant, beware! Bedside manner was bad
Was not who I needed to see but was very compasionate and helpful with great info including who I did need to be seeing Was much more helpful than my actual primary care doctor whom I won't mention. I highly recommend her.
I didn't even make an appointment! I called the office number, and the message says to hold while we TRY to connect your call. Usually it wll have a doctors name, etc. A lady answered and I said I wanted to make an appointment. It sounded like she was outside on her cell phone on a windy day (which it was). She wanted to give me the fax number for my doctor to fax over a refferal, but I tried to explain that UHC doesn't need. I also tried to explain that a doctor had sent it over the previous month. She seemed very confused, and wouldn't listen. I said good-bye and hung up. I figured if it was that bad just to talk to someone, the experience would not get any better.
Dr, Thirston is very understanding, listens to patients, and orvides sound judgements and advice.
Dr. Thirston gives one of the most thorough exams I have ever had by a pain management physician. She made me feel comfortable and that as a patient I really mattered to her. I feel like I have found someone I will be seeing for a long time. I was having to go to Atlanta to see someone of her caliber. Now I don't have to make those long trips.
She is only interested in doing more procedures, not in helping her patients. She did radio frequency ablation on my back and left me in way worse pain than when I started. Then automatically scheduled more procedures without my consent. I will never go back to her for treatment.
My opinion about Dr. Thirston changed quickly when i needed help and she was incredibly rude and wouldn't do anything to help. I was in severe pain and told Dr. Thirston I was hurting so badly that I was at the point where I wanted to shoot my leg so hopefully it'd have to be removed. Instead of realizing the amount of pain I was in she began yelling at saying I was threatening her. I couldn't get a word in so I started yell
Husband waited over 2 months to get in to see this so called doctor, he was referred to her from our family DOCTOR! Notice the caps, a reaL DOCTOR! Thirston had his medical records,MRI,CT scan,X-ray, everything, they knew he had no insurance, they also had to know how much PAIN HE IS IN. But when he got there finally, the day had come, AND HE HAD CASH IN HAND! $2000 The receptionist says we don't take self pay! NO, NO, NO, was all she could say. The doc would not even talk to hiim.DO NOT GO!!BAD

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
