Surgical Center For Excellence's Online Review Report Card

I requested a doctor's note to excuse my son from school from the front desk twice, two different nurses, and from Dr. Lapoint before my son's procedure. I was assured it would be with his stuff upon discharge. They forgot to include it so I called to request it be emailed. The doctor who I spoke with told me I should have requested it while i was there (as I did), refused to help, said it's not her problem, and hung up. I am so saddened by this treatment after having such a pleasant in-person experience. I do not reccomend this center, as they refuse to assist patients after discharge and are not service-oriented.

The quality is in the name of this place.. “Excellence.” Prior to having surgery, the previous reviews made me skeptical. Being a month post-op I’d strongly disagree with most of the previous reviews. It was my very first time with anesthesia and Dr. Brown made sure to ask if I had questions and assured me I had nothing to worry about. All of the nurses made conversation with me me and were extremely kind and reassuring. Makayla specifically never left my side in the pre-op area and I can’t thank her enough for making me comfortable. The staff is focused on driving results and they are set on getting their job done and doing it well.

Be prepared to wait a few hours beyond your appointment time, but if you have a child having surgery here they’re amazing! The nurse was very comforting, she pretended my son was a superhero and took him on a scavenger hunt on the way to the operating room. The anesthesiologist was very straight forward and knowledgeable. The dental surgeon was polite and helpful. I can see why it’s frustrating to wait hours for the surgery but it’s worth it for the great experience and care.

DO NOT GO HERE! This place is awful. The facility is old and dirty. The bathroom in the lobby is filthy and reeks of urine. My daughter needed dental surgery with Dr Berry who is wonderful but this place is terrible. It is like taking your child to a back room at the Piggly Wiggly for surgery . They called at 7am the morning of stating they had a cancelation so we came early, but still waited 3 hours to go back for surgery. The nursing staff was kind, a few of them seemed as if it was their first day but they were nice none the less. One of the staff members did have a loud altercation with a mom in the waiting area which was very unprofessional and shocking. It made my daughter even more nervous than she already was. Ask for a different facility if this one is offered, stay far far away from here!

Everyone was great except Dr.Brown. she is doctor of anesthesia . She is very very rude. I was trying to talk to her calmly and she got all in my space saying to stop being defensive, load in front of my two children. The nurses and Dr. Berry is great. I would give 5 star but because of Dr Brown they got a 1.

This was the worst experience I have ever had with any type of professional office. My daughter (who was 4 at the time) was going in for dental work and had to have anesthesia. The nurse that initially helped us along with the pediatric dentist were great. If i could give the Surgical Center for Excellence a 0 stars, I would. After being called back when they were finished, they told me I could take my daughter home, she was still asleep and I let them know that I was not comfortable with taking her home still asleep due to this being her AND my first time with any of this. The discharge nurse and CRNA were so rude and trying to rush me out with my daughter. A few days later they called and I expressed my concern again and they had no remorse for the way they treat their patients especially the children. They apparently do not know the difference in "being sleepy" vs. being asleep which is the excuse they will give you to get you out of there. If you are planning on needing any work done, I would go elsewhere. There is a reason their rating is a 2.8...

My daughter had her dental work done here recently and we had no issues at all. The staff was friendly especially the nurses. There was a small wait once they brought us back and my daughter started to get antsy but the nurses were nice and understanding. The nurse apologizes about the wait too but it wasn’t a big deal, we expected to do some waiting. The procedure was quick and we were out of there quickly. My daughter slept on the way home and woke up wondering where her blue popsicle was. Ha! The reviews made me nervous but our experience was nothing but a good one. Her smile is back thanks to Surgical Center for Excellence!

I just want to say a big thank you to the staff at the Surgical Center for Excellence in Panama City Fl. A big shout out to all the nurses that was so kind and helpful. They made my experience comfortable under the circumstances. I had a lot of anxiety going in for the surgery but they made me feel totally at ease. I want to thank Dr. Brown and Dr. Daube for their professionalism and I would highly recommend this center. They are amazing and you deserve more than a five star.

The wait was entirely too long. Especially for an elderly man with diabetes who has been fasting for about 12 hours. The bathroom doesn't flush properly, the TV in the lobby doesn't work, and the water fountain is out of order. So basically you're waiting entirely too long with no entertainment and not even water to drink. The only thing good about this place was the receptionist who was friendly and patient.

If I could rate this place a negative I would, rude staff, was told to arrive early to the appointment being a 2 hour drive away only to wait 2 hours for my niece to even be seen. I top of that she was told not have any fluids or food the night before, mind you the appointment was at 1:30 this poor child sat and cried bc they didn’t even bring her back till around 3:00. Didn’t even perform the surgery we drove all the way for. Did nothing to help her toothache and didn’t extract the tooth that was causing her the most pain. This place is a joke.
