List of Rodney Morris's Reviews
When my brother was diagnosed with late-stage colon cancer, Dr. Morris was able to extend his life for 2 years and even though part of the time was tough, we were able to have a lot of quality time with him. Later, in 2007 Dr. Morris saved my life. My family has had a close relationship with Dr. Morris dating back to when his father was practicing medicine. I trust him above all others.
The first thing he said to be was “Why are you here?” in an aggressive tone. I tried to explain that my doctor wanted my gallbladder removed and I have an injection fraction of less than 5% and he yelled, “You’re not a doctor! Why are you here?” He spent about 20 minutes fat shaming me for being 30lbs overweight and (asking if I was diabetic and then if I was ABSOLUTELY SURE... I had no sign on prior testing, asked what activities I was doing and if I was trying to lose the 25lbs that I had lost and was annoyed when I said I wasn’t trying, lightly pressed on my abdomen and acted grossed out), he completely disregarded my prior testing and said he didn’t believe in hida scans, didn’t listen to all of my symptoms before cutting me off saying nausea wasn’t a symptom of gallbladder disease(it actually is), acted like I was crazy for being on any meds at 23, scolded me for taking fioricet, and he blamed my symptoms on needing fiber, being constipated, and maybe diabetic. Got a new surgeon.
I came in to see him since my doctor wants my gallbladder removed due to it being dysfunctional as shown on a hida scan with an injection fraction of less than 5%. Dr. Morris came into the room and his first sentence was “Why are you here?” In an aggressive tone. I told him my doctor wanted my gallbladder removed. He replied again asking why I was there. I told him about my injection fraction and he yelled saying, “You are not a doctor! Why are you here?!” My mom then told me he meant what symptoms I had. I started listing them and got to nausea. As soon as I got to nausea he cut me off saying nausea wasn’t a symptom of gallbladder disease(it’s actually a WELL KNOWN symptom of not only gallbladder disease, but of most gallbladder issues). I didn’t get to get through the rest of my symptoms. My mom pointed out that I had the low injection fraction and he just cut her off and said that he saw that and that a bad day can cause that and said he didn’t believe in hida scans. Said it was unlikely to be my gallbladder since I don’t have sludge or gallstones(yes I know it is more rare, but it runs in my family which I didn’t know until after I started having the issues.) He then looked me up and down and asked what I like to do for fun. I looked at him confused and he said he was trying to figure out what kind of activity I was doing. Then he asked where I work. I told him I was taking a break due to my health. He looked at my mom with a look that said, “Are you really allowing that?” Then he asked where I WAS working. I told him the gym. He got excited and asked if I was going to the gym to workout with there. I told him a couple of times before I couldn’t with the pain(I started working there the same time my issues started). He visibly got annoyed and scoffed. He asked how many babies I have had. I told him none. He asked if I was on birth control. I said no. He asked if I had diabetes and when I said no, he in a sassy tone said, “Are you SURE you don’t have diabetes?” I said yes. He asked how much weight I have lost and I told him I went from 176 to 153(still overweight by 30lbs). He then asked if I was trying to lose weight and when I said no, he got visibly annoyed again. He looked at my med list and asked why a 23 year old would even need to be on meds since there apparently should be no reason for that. I told him first of all I had fibromyalgia. He then asked, “What makes you figure you have that?” I told him I was diagnosed. He then in a sassy tone asked, “By who?” I told him my rheumatologist. He then dropped that and got me to get in the bed and he lightly pressed on my abdomen like he was utterly disgusted that he even had to touch me but not hard enough to actually feel for anything. He looked at my purse which had my few meds and said, “WOW, are those your meds? May I take a look?” As he was already reaching into my purse going through them. So, I said sure. He scolded me for being on fioricet. He asked if I knew it was a narcotic. I said yes. He then declared he wasn’t convinced it was my gallbladder. Told me to try fiber. I told him I have tried fiber and he said that I haven’t tried HIS fiber. He accused me of being some kind of diabetic and being constipated due to narcotics and other issues caused by being overweight.(I don’t take enough fioricet for that and I know the difference between what my symptoms are now vs when I actually WAS constipated due to narcotics that I had to take after oral surgery). At this point I was started to cry and he condescendingly asked, “Why are you getting upset?” I told him he was acting like it wasn’t a problem. At this point I has to stop talking to him and he talked to my mom just telling her to get me to take fiber and come back in two weeks. I would like to point out that NONE of my prior testing(that he completely disregarded) pointed to me being diabetic or constipated. I had blood work, a FULL ABDOMINAL ultrasound, and a hida scan. None of them pointed to ANY of those issues
Excellent Dr. & Surgeon- Probably The Best General Surgeon in Bay County. He has done all my family’s general surgery & we’ve never had an issue. Very pleasant bedside manner, also.
Almost cost me my life, in 2016. Will have permanent damage that he caused from his negligence, and uncaring. He doesn’t listen, and most definitely has a “God Complex” personality. Since almost losing my life from his negligence, I’ve heard of others with botched surgeries that he performed. He certainly took away my quality of life! He doesn’t even the one star rating!!
Dr. Morris has been our family surgeon ever since he started practicing in Panama City, FL. He diagnosed and treated my second oldest son, at age 40, with colon cancer some years ago now and worked along with his oncologist finding new options and gave him an extra year and a half of quality life. He has been my oldest son's abdominal surgeon for over 15 years and seen him through many problems, and saved his life several times, the latest being just a few months ago. Everyone in my extended family uses Dr. Morris.
A wonderful surgeon
He and his staff have my complete trust!
Saw Dr. Morris before , told me i had a nuroma , gave me a nerve block Had another surgery on abdomen ( done by other Dr) same spot, dr morris treated started acting up again after some time, the other Dr. agreed that i could make an appt. with dr. morris to recheck nuroma, Saw Dr Morris again in Aug of 2017, did not listen to me, his whole examination.was less than 5 min. I was asking questions he rushed out saying see me in 3 months, charged 327.00 other surgeon charged 152.00
Dr. Morris is probably the greatest find when I was diagnosed with Colin Cancer in March of 2017. He was determined to do everything possible to remove the cancerous cells completely, during the surgery. I was able to avoid Chemo and/or Radiation treatments, which saved me months of added medical care. Dr. Morris and staff are first class, professional and very personable in dealing with their patients. Again, I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Morris and staff for their never ending care!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
