List of William Mckenzie's Reviews
I saw him twice, in a 12 month period. 1st visit he did a PFT, but did not go over results, talked to me for 5 minutes prescribed an inhaler medication, ordered a chest XRay. His staff said they'd call in the order for the chest XRay, and call me when appointment was made. No call. I saw him last month, wasted half my work day, for a 15 minute visit, after waiting an hour in his lobby. I think I was being punished, because I couldn't make it there 30 minutes early. One of his office people called me about 45 minutes before my appointment to say, she needed me there in about 15 minutes, because he wanted me to do another PFT! I told her I was coming from Youngstown, and couldn't make it that soon..she acted disgusted and said nevermind, and acted like it was my fault, she waited 46 minutes before my appointment time, to ask me to be there 30 minutes early! Visit was awful, he came in with some rambling rant about how he's not authorized to do disability paperwork, that had to be handled thru attorneys and the courts! I wasn't asking for disability papers, I was trying to get a remote work accomodation renewed. He refused to listen to me, blew me off, my husband tried to explain and he tried to blow him off, but my husband told him he wasn't much of a Dr and had a poor bedside manner. McKenzie got offended, said visit was over, he wasn't talking with my husband any longer! My husband left, and I stayed. McKenzie started another rambling explanation about how it he even did an accomodation paperwork, my employer would either fire me, or suspend me, or and then bring me back and make me work in their warehouse or as a janitor!! I tried to explain I worked in an office setting, no warehouse, no janitorial positions, he wasn't having any of it lmao. He ordered a sleep study, walked me out of the office. While checking out, his nurse was telling me they would schedule the titration, and when it was approved, they'd let me know, I haven't heard anything from them yet. That was over a month ago. When the nurse was going over meds again, McKenzie poked his head in, said 'Deuces!' And that he was out...very unprofessional Dr, office and staff. I will not go back! And I strongly encourage everyone to find a different pulmonologist!
I saw Dr. McKensie for sleep apnea. His office staff was very efficient and professional. They requested I bring previous records. He had me get several tests in his office, very thorough to check for lung disorders. He ordered a sleep study and promptly ordered what I needed. Definitely recommend
Would recommend another office. They ordered a sleep test at $260.00. They advised us to pay out of pocket because they dont file with insurance. So I called our insurance and was told that they have a contract and are suppose to file. Our insurance advised us that we would need documentation showing the diagnose code with all information so when "I " could file for reimbursement. The front desk lady stated, we have just a basic receipt. So long story short we would not get a reimbursement. And just if your wondering our deductibles were met. P.S. they are not Vetran friendly.. Good luck...
Rude, arrogant, condescending. Will not email, mail new patient forms. Said "insurance demands all of these appointments" including last one to tell me I need a BIPAP after 15+ yrs of sleep Therapy. Would NOT order BiPAP until that 1 minute appointment; a 75 minute one- way trip for me. Will not use Telehealth. Most unprofessional physician encountered in 65+ years! Find another doctor!
I have always had a great experience with Dr. McKenzie and his staff. No complaints at all.
Office staff is rude. Wait was long. Doctor was rushed and didn't explain anything. When he talked it was in a mumble and hard to understand. Technicians run you through tests with no explanations. The biggest problem, orders blood tests that are experimental, not approved by FDA and extremely expensive ($3850). These tests are not covered by insurance and nobody in his office even cared to mention this. As a matter of fact, I was told the test would not cost me anything!
Don't, I repeat don't.
Patient care is terrible. My mother has COPD and this is supposed to be her physician for her breathing. She has been diagnosed with COVID and is going for an infusion today to try and help her. I call to let him or his staff know what is going on. They are closed on Friday. That’s fine. However they have an answering service but they can not take messages for the office. Why in the world do you have an answering service just to tell you they can’t do anything but tell you to call back on Monday?? And this isn’t the first issue with this office. This is the offfice that put my mother in disability. She on oxygen 24/7. When she needed papers filled out for her taxes on her home the refused saying they do not fill out forms. All they are doing is taking money from Medicare and could care less about her health or well being. She lives off 1000 dollars a month and any help for her would be greatly appreciated. We need doctors who take the Hippocratic Oath seriously and aren’t in the profession just for the glory and money. Although how can you have any glory knowing you are doing as little as possible for those in need of your care and compassion.
They said they accepted self pay patients, but when a Hispanic person goes in they don't??? The receptionist was very rude and discriminatory. Don't go here!
Best part of this office is the breathing test technician. After having some tests done, upon my follow-up, he literally spent 3 minutes in the room with me, saying that when I had the sleep study completed, he'd know how to treat me. I left and will never be back. Less than 2 weeks later, I had my diagnosis from another doctor, who had the very same information. Don't waste your time and money, or that of your insurance company!

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
