List of Sissi Cossio's Reviews
I would give her zero stars if I could but need at least 1 to post a review so here goes. My daughter's was under Dr Cossio's care for almost 2 years when her practice phased out endocrinology. We waited for her to land somewhere and visited Pediatrix Medical Group for our 6 month follow up visit, for continuity of care. Dr. Cossio had all of her past records from the previous practice and we had our follow up. She ordered repeat labs and discussed the medication she prescribed between practices. Six months later, I received a bill that was more than double what I've ever paid after my insurance review. I questioned the charges with my insurance because no one at Pediatrix Medical Group, including Dr Cossio, would return my messages. The insurance told me the charge was appropriate for a new patient visit. Understandable as a doctor provides a higher level of service for a new patient, including a comprehensive history and physical, that we did not get. Bottom line is find a new doctor
She has been our son's endo for 10 years. She is wonderful! Compassionate and takes the time to address his overall health. Always available after hours when we have had emergencies.
We have seen Dr Cossio 3 times for my son in the past two years. She has been great. But the last time she saw my son she asked to come back in a year, which is now. So I called today to schedule an appointment and they told me a need a new referral which my insurance doesn’t ask for. They told me it was a policy of pediatric associates , which I think is just non sense if my son is already a patient. It seems that they didn’t like that my 2 sons don’t go with the regular pediatrician to one of their other locations as they used to do. I stopped going to pediatric associates and had to look for smaller office because everything time I went my sons saw different doctors which by the way don’t seem to care about anything because they don’t know their patients. I’m so sorry because I think Dr Cossio is great but the offices where she works have policies that don’t make sense. It is a shame but I can’t go back to see her because they don’t allow me to make a follow up appointment .
We're satisfied with the care we have received from Dr. Cossio and her team. However, it's been extremely frustrating to schedule a new appointment for my child. Since they moved to the new location in Parkland, the answering system is extremely long and the menu option to schedule appointments cuts the calls off. After multiple attempts, my call finally went thru after resorting to use a land line (mobile phone kept on getting disconnected)...
We transferred to Dr. Cossio bc her office is close to home. Our son had been on growth hormone treatments for two years and it was time for his follow up appointment. She did not call with his results so I had to call her. She told me to take him off of his medication immediately but couldn’t adequately explain the reason why. I wonder what would’ve happened had I not called her and he stayed on the medication? I just made an appt with his old doctor over 1 hour away bc she couldn’t explain why
My 2 yr old is currently in the West Boca Medical Center ICU after coming in via ambulance unconscious and unresponsive. He is under the care of Sisi Cossio yet I can't get a return call or update after 3 DAYS of attempts to contact!!! MISinformation is all I've been able to acquire from RN's & attendings which doesn't match the info in his chart and still, I can not get Dr. Cossio to return a call. I'm told for 3 days, time and again that ALL tests came back normal from lab, cardio, endo, and neurologist... Only to find out later on my own via online portal access that his TSH is 9.58miu (5 TIMES AVERAGE), Cortisol level at 36.50 (4 TIMES AVERAGE), etc... Yet hospital just tells me... "sorry, we can't make her call you back." My son has been there since the morning of 2/16/16 and I STILL have yet to speak with Dr. Cossio who's in charge of my sons care. This hospital has serious ethical and procedural issues that make for a dangerous climate! Once a mistake has been made, the defensive posturing and CYA attitude is too much to deal with as a concerned and helpless father. Go to Joe DiMaggio or Miami Children's for ANYTHING serious or possibly life threatening...... Very Concerned Parent
There is certainly a language barrier when communicating in English. Her staff is not well trained, they work for an endocrinologist and yet they do not know a specialty pharmacy to order drugs from. And I was able to do it in 15 minutes.
Our appointment was for 130pm. After waiting for 1.5 hours we decided to leave. During the time in the exam room the doctor never stopped in to say hello or explain or apologize for the situation. I never expected this lack of professionalism from the staff or doctor.
Think about things like... What was most memorable? What did you like or dislike? What would you tell a friend? Would you choose this doctor again?
My son is 13 and was diagnosed with a semi rare Thyroid issue at the age of 5. Since that time we have seen 3 different Specialists, that I WAS NOT a fan of. About a year and half ago our Pediatrician recommended Dr. Cossio, I was not happy with who my son was seeing at the time and decided to give it a try. I fell in love. Not only did I not have to wait 6 months to get an appt, I did not have to wait 2 hours in the waiting room and yet, I did not feel rushed when she was in the room with us. She has done her best to regulate his medication and keep him on a dose that works for him. She is reachable and attainable and appears to really care for her patients. I would recommend Dr. Cossio to any parent who is looking for a new Endocrinologist for their child. She gets 5 Stars in my book.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
