Dr. Nelson Preschel's Online Review Report Card

Staff was courteous. The assistant was kind and polite. Dr. Nelson was awesome in satisfying and care of his patient. This was the first visit which is very encouraging for us to continue. He was busy but very calm, confident , humorous and displaying cool and smile on his face.

I went to see Dr. Preschel based on the referral of my sister's cataract surgery doctor; she said she would only allow Dr Preschel to do surgery on her eyes if she ever needed it. That spoke volumes to me. Of course I do my homework and check out every doctor's background like lawsuits complaints licensing issues etc. and Dr. Preschel is super squeaky clean and stellar! I worked with his office to get the correct insurance coverage so I could see him. He saw me in January 2020 and did surgery in February 2020. We had our last in office followup March 2020 due to COVID. We weren't able to follow up as much as he would have liked however we did follow up in late July 2020. Everything was perfect and my vision the best it had been in memory. I go back to him every single year, I don't trust anyone else with my eyes. What he did for me was above and beyond. I had had Lasik in 2005 - that complicates cataract surgery. The man is incredibly brilliant so he has his own algorithm that he uses to take measurements based on the cataract lenses needed and the Lasik surgery already performed. My lenses are perfect and while I do use reading glasses who cares? I can buy those cheap anywhere. The fact of the matter is I see better than I can remember. I would recommend Dr. Preschel 100% to anyone! Don't buy into the BS that you have to wait until your cataracts are "ripe". Dr. Preschel can explain to you that is total garbage. It's the insurance companies way to be cheap. My mother waited and a year later she died from pancreatic cancer not knowing she could've had her good vision for years before she passed away. I will never forget that and I will never forgive that doctor for making my mother be mostly blind waiting on the insurance company to say it was OK. Dr. Preschel does other medical surgeries/treatments like for glaucoma (which I may have a small amount due to congenital eyes disease that I have). I already know he does miracles for eyes so why go somewhere else? His office staff are nice, professional but they don't take any BS. Call them and make 100% sure your insurance works with them up front. Don't go there and find out they don't the day of your appointment. It is not their job to make your insurance work for you. I'll repeat that again, it is not their job to make your insurance work for you. Dr. Preschel will spend a lot of time with you for your initial visit so plan on a couple of hours. I would rather he took his time and was thorough than rush me through and missed something important. If that's not the kind of doctor you're looking for than you probably shouldn't go there but if you're looking for a doctor who is invested in your eye health then Dr. Preschel is your doctor.

After waiting 1 year for my appointment - I called to confirm. They said they had no appointment for me and I would have to wait 3 months for an appointment. Meanwhile I have a card from them with a time and date on it. Seems to me the office staff is not competent

EXCELLENT DR. I WILL HIGHLY RECOMMEND HIM, VERY NICE, HE EXPLAINS ALL AND ANSWER ALL YOUR QUESTIONS. AND HIS ASSISTANTS ARE VERY NICE TOO

He is an excellent doctor but his office charged me $150.00 for not calling to cancel one appt. This is an outrageous amount. Never in my life have I had to experience this situation., even with top rated surgeons. Beware of signing any paperwork with fees. I will never return to this ophthalmologist ever again.

Dr Preschel is one Amazing person . My first time going to him and I was beyond satisfied the staff was super friendly and very caring . I kept having eye infections and was able to see why I was experiencing the eye infection . This dr is one the best and recommended him to a lot of people . Thank you Dr Preschel for an amazing visit and thank you helping me with my eye !
