George Vargas's Online Review Report Card

They don’t allow PCP offices to make appointments for the patients. Dr. Vargas is a good physician but he is loosing patients by not allowing the referring doctor to schedule an appointment.

Charges for medical procedures that are not required. He constantly pushes these services into you and then refuses to assist without these procedures being done. Very scammy, stay away

Unprofessional office staff, they will keep you on hold and if you ask a question they will yell and hang up. Office scams and over charges to do his job. You can not charge the insurance, co pay and $80 additional to read blood sugar levels, that is your job. Doctor should not be getting paid to manage diabetes with insurance money and co pay because he charges another fee for that. Doctor is nice at the appointment but does not fill prescriptions so you have to call multiple times to get them filled and they are nasy.

I love this doctor. He is a marvel. Very practical, very professional, an excellent doctor.

I wouldn’t even give them a star if that was possible. Besides the wait of 3 hours, Dr. Vargas completely shut me up throughout my whole appointment and when sharing my concerns. Didn’t want to hear about any of my symptoms or my diagnosis before the visit. I am aware I have PCOS and told him this, however this was NOT the reason for my visit. I have been monitoring my glucose ever since I found out I was having problems with it during a hospital visit, Dr. Vargas did not even want to see my monitor or check the important measurements or my avg. Even more ABSURD was the fact he told me a “40 mg/dL glucose level could be normal” in a full on 22 year old adult and when told my doctors had told me that wasn’t normal he gaslight me with “Honey, I’ve been doing this for 40 years”. I have a full name, the honey was passive aggressive (but then again Dr. Vargas was passive aggressive with me and my mom throughout the whole thing as we explained we were worried as diabetes ran in the family and I was already a diagnosed pre-diabetic.) Anything below 70 is absolutely dangerous, doesn’t take a genius or a degree to know such thing. However, I gave it the benefit of the doubt and asked 3 different doctors and all said it was absolutely not normal. Even a simple google search could tell you and why. They told me to never go back and the only thing he wanted was money as he scheduled me for an ultrasound and gave me a PCOS diagnosis which I told him I had already but refused to check my glucose, especially as I was telling him that was my main concern and that is why I was referred there. Not only that but then he told me I had “anxiety” which is also not news to me and I know what low blood sugar feels like compared to anxiety which I told him as I’ve fainted from low blood sugar which is how I found out I was struggling with my glucose. Even more absurd is the fact he told me I had not gone to my PCP since May last year when my PCP referred me in October and when told to ask for those he said it doesn’t matter. How? If those are the tests I was referred with! An absolute mess and dismissive. Would absolutely tell you to find a doctor that actually cares about you, every one of your symptoms, tests that could help him, and your concerns! Also office is dirty and they like to make money of their patients not address their concerns. Dr. Vargas is ridiculous. After reading so many reviews, he is clearly not caring and wants us to be lab rats. Does not listen to doctors who have referred their patients there, matter of fact says their bloodwork is not right. Shouldn’t be a doctor or at least go back to school.

This office is shady. They overcharge you, they don’t send you lab orders to your email so that you are obligated to go get it done there so they can charge you. My mom had an thyroid US done and when I called to see if she had a follow up for her initial visit, the girl who answered the phone said no but a card was given to us with the date. If I wouldn’t have called, my mom would not know the results that now she was charged $50 again when they know I questioned the overcharge from the US. The insurance copay was $50 but was charged $114. I was told i would receive a call prior to the follow up to confirm the credit never happened, instead they called to collect another $50 for the follow up.

Despite my telling him about my diagnosis of PCOS, he refused to listen to any of my symptoms or take into consideration the reason for my visit. I have been monitoring my glucose levels since I experienced issues during a previous hospital visit, but he didn't even bother to look at my monitor or check my measurements. When I mentioned a dangerously low glucose level, he suggested it could be normal, even though it is well-known that anything below 70 is dangerous and can lead to severe health issues, including coma and even death. Dr. Vargas seemed more interested in scheduling an ultrasound and giving me a PCOS diagnosis, which I already had, rather than addressing my diabetes concern. He dismissed my concerns about my glucose levels and suggested that my fainting episodes were due to anxiety, despite my telling him that I knew what low blood sugar felt like. He also seemed uninterested in following up on tests that my PCP had referred me for, which was the reason for my visit.

This Doctor is a scam; he requested me to do an ultrasound of my thyroid and book an appointment with his technician who was going to charge $400. My radiology center charges $120 for the same ultrasound so I asked 5 times for the referral/ultrasound prescription and they completely refused. They will not give the referral so that you are forced to pay him the overpriced $400. INSANE!
