List of Hugo Fonseca's Reviews
Dr. Fonseca saw me within days of my Internist contacting him. I was suffering from PMR. My blood tests did not show that I had the disease. He treated me and has always asked me questions regarding my condition and always answers mine. He is very professional and caring. He continues to monitor me. I highly recommend Dr. Fonseca
I have seen him 3 times and he doesn't listen. He just wants to run tests and spends less than 10 minutes with you. He doesn't ask how you are or if you tell him something is going on he says well let's run more blood tests. All 3 times he has ran the same 3 blood tests not even the ones that are necessary for my diagnosis. I feel he just dismisses me every time I'm there. I honestly believe I know more about the blood tests and other testing than he does. My other Rhuematologist was so caring and knowledgeable. I hate he is 300miles away.
Dr. Fonseca was one of the few doctors that actually helped me with my condition. He is nice, understanding and listens and explains. I recommend him.
He will treat you, but will not treat the illness you are seeing him for.
I've had RA for 26yrs. I have seen various Rheumatologist since being diagnosed. He is the kindest, most thoughtful and caring! It frustrates me to see him bashed by people who do not understand the difference between a Rheumatologist, Orthopaedic and Spinal physicians. You do realize they all SPECIALIZE IN THEIR AREA?!? So No a Rheumatologist isn't going to fix your neck/spine or give you a new hip/knee. They are AUTOIMMUNE DISEASE physicians. Do your research before bashing great physicians!
Really does not matter what you tell him. He does not remember what is discussed during previous appointments. He does not follow through. He never even checked my upper spine I also complained about. Just checked my lower, said arthritis and fibromyalgia. Went to a neurologist, MRI done of my cervical spine. My C7 vertebrae has completely slipped and my spinal canal is almost completely restricted. Fibromyalgia huh? My cervical spine is shaped like a "C". Sure that has nothing to do with it...
I was referred to Dr. Fonseca for possible RA or Fibro. He has a quiet demeanor and put me at ease immediately. He listened to me without having his head buried in a computer or rushing out the door like so many other doctors. He seemed very knowledgeable in his field. I have seen him twice and trust him to diagnose my health issues. I would send my friends and family to him.
I saw him for the first and last time today. I was referred to him by my dermatologist for help with an Autoimmune skin disease. I found him to be extremely unprofessional, because without ever having seen me before, without seeing a single xray or any lab work, he tried to tell me I do NOT have rheumatoid arthritis, even though I've been diagnosed and treated for it for nearly a decade and been closely followed by other rheumatologists for many years and refused to treat my skin disorder.
Dr Fonseca is very pleasant and caring. He takes the time to explain and make you feel comfortable. Dr Fonseca also takes the time to listen which is so important for the patient. I am very pleased with him and my experience.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
