Terrible doctro Terrible, avoid at all costs

Came off as very arrogant, misdiagnosed me bipolar as well, wasted a lot of my time

From Top-A Doctor to Medium-C Dr. Maximiliano Cardozo, MD (Psychiatrist) is a good doctor, in my opinion. I used to be his patient for more than 5 years, if I recall correctly. And then, the COVID-19 PANDEMIC hit. He closed his office, and from there on all visits were through the phone, only. As a result: 1. I was never able to see not even his face again (no Video call, voice only) 2. He sounded to be always in a rush (I had not time to discuss anything) 3. The visit would take average under 5 mins. 4. The only treatment I got was continued prescribed medication (same medication). I felt the only reason I had a visit every 3 months was for him to re-authorize my medication. No treatment. So, I dropped him a year ago. End of story.

I have been a patient of Dr. Cardozo for over 6 years. There was a time when I didn't have insurance, and I could've gone somewhere else. I would rather pay out of my pocket and continue seeing Dr. Cardozo than not having him as my doctor. I have only received professionalism with his staff and kindness and great experience with Dr. Cardozo.

I have been a patient at this office for over 3 years. It is with great displeasure that I feel the need to write this review. The staff at Dr. Cardozo's is absolutely the worst I have experienced at any medical office. They are disrespectful, they lie(several times, placing blame on all but themselves) and they overcharge you your copay(this has happened at least 2 times). I have caught them in the over charge for the copay and then they apologize and don't charge the next one.... The staff member (first initial E)who confirms appointments and answers the calls of the patients is honestly the catalyst for this poor review. I have had several problems attempting to get coverage on my medicines and EVERY TIME I have to call them and ask them for help, she always blames someone else(the insurance, the pharmacy) and when I ask for a simple call back from the doctor, the doctor never calls back. The final straw was today, she called me to confirm an appointment.....I simply responded to her asking about the appointment & asked her why I didn't get a return call from the doctor that I had requested over a week ago and without provocation, she raised her voice and said that's it....I will just take that as an appointment confirmation and hung up on me, mind you I didn't confirm the appointment. This is just what has happened today. There are many other issues with this staff. As fas as Dr. Cardozo, he is a kind and caring doctor. My only gripe with him is that he no longer accepts in patient and only does phone call visits. I don't understand how a doctor is still only "seeing" his patients over the phone. As a patient I feel the level of care is subpar at best from a 5 minute phone call. Thanks to one bad apple under this doctors supervision, I would highly recommend seeking help from another practitioner.

Dr. Cardozo is the best psychiatrist I’ve ever had. He’s extremely professional, kind, and caring. He’s an expert in his field and provides the most outstanding quality of psychiatric and mental health care. My mental health has greatly improved thanks to him and his expertise. His staff is wonderful too. They’re attentive, responsive, and courteous. If you’re looking for the best quality of psychiatric care, I HIGHLY recommend him.

He is professional, caring and responsive. Dr. Cardozo has been a wonderful psychiatrist for me. I am having such a hard time reading all of the negative reviews. This is not the Dr. Cardozo who has been treating me for close to a year. Miami, FL
