Had a VA Community Care referral for a Neurosurgeon. My appointments with NP then Dr. I was waiting for CT appointment and a EMG study to be scheduled. While contacting Scheduling, the clinic did no submit the CT or the EMG to Accession Hospital (this is not the first time I had issues with Ascension Hospital. After numerous phone calls press 1 for this press 2 for that etc. The mailbox was full or the point of contact was not available. The straw that broke the camel's back was when I received a phone call from the Dr office on a Friday at 2 PM requesting that I submit digital copies of MRI images for Monday morning at 9:30 My MRI's was done at the Boston VA, in the Eastern Time Zone. So I calling Boston on Friday everyone is heading home and shutting down the systems. So am I happy about the patient care at Ascension Hospital, NO.
I had back surgery April 13th of this year by Dr Villar. My pre-surgery was detailed and all text and explained, by Dr Villar and his surgical staff. I did my presurgical directions throughly and came through with flying colors. My back pain is gone thanks to this very talented and caring surgeon! I recommend him highly for anyone in need of back surgery! Sacred Heart Ascension Group is very lucky to have him!
I have been to many doctors in the past eight mo. Having prescription after prescription costing a fortune, I found Dr. Villar, he is my hero to me. One surgery he took away the pain in my back. He took away the neuropathy in my leg and in my foot. Yes, it’s up to me to get stronger walking, but I couldn’t even stand up straight, until today and I had the surgery yesterday. Thank you Dr. Villar. I love you so you’re grateful and patient.
Dr. Villar-Sacred office staff, as well as Dr. Villarreal are very caring and concerned about the health of their patients. I always feel like they are treating me special; but I know that that’s how they must treat everybody.
Dr Villar helped me to walk without pain again. Thank you for caring.
Dr. Villar is the best surgeon in this area that is why my neurosurgeon at Baptist Dr. Lewis referred to him! He is super intelligent and looked up to by many other neurosurgeons & patients. So far I rate him as the best Dr. I have ever seen and I have seen many since I have had 10 surgery's for different reasons. He is very well spoken, takes his time with you and makes you feel comfortable. Did I mention he is absolutely perfect looking? Who does not want to look at something beautiful while suffering in pain? I am happily married! But who does not like looking at super intelligent beautiful things? Just saying. Let's be honest how many people do you know that are perfect looking, have great communication skills, and are super intelligent? How many? Seriously the two neurosurgeons I seen at Baptist both said you need surgery but we can't help you. You need to see the best Dr. Villar. 🤓 Looks are absolutely nothing but skill is everything! I feel blessed to have Dr. Villar on my health team. Plus his office staff is amazing and they deserve a reward for their outstanding work!
Dr Villar and his team are my heroes. I was in horrible back pain, going down the front of my legs for 7 months. I had surgery in Dec, not at Scared Heart and not only did the surgery fail but the pain got even worse. I could not walk because of the pain. I came into the er at Scared Heart on Thursday evening. Dr Pillar operated on me Sat. Morn. and my back pain got better. I was discharged and went to a rehab for 10 days. I have some pain from the surgery but that horrible leg pain is gone. I can't thank Dr Pillar enough. He gave me back my life. I feel better daily. Thank you again.
Had a tumor in my frontal lobe about 2 years ago and Dr. Villar was amazing. He made sure I felt comfortable and because of him something that should have been the scariest moment of my life felt less daunting. looking back on it now I couldn’t recommend a better surgeon. Thank you for everything Dr. Villar.
Dr. Villar and his staff were very helpful in explaining what I needed to get done in order for me to alleviate my pains.
I was surprised to get a very good consultation and the office staff were very nice, welcoming, and attentive. I say surprised because of the reviews I have read regarding this office and also word of mouth about the staff being rude. I got lucky maybe today or they may have new staff or maybe better training but I did not have a problem with any of them. The nurse practitioner Etta Byrd was very informative and took her time, which I appreciate so much. Even though she was answering text messages at the time of my appt., she did not rush me or rush our appt. I did not mind it at all as long as I get my time that I needed for the appt. She stayed on point and I was very glad that I did not need surgery.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
