So rude. Does not listen at all. Made me feel like I was on trial. She wouldn’t accept my answers and told me I had a virus - viruses don’t last 6 months. Also told me to stop smoking medicinal marijuana that was prescribed to me for PTSD without any regard to or discussion about my mental health. Avoid her at all costs.

Went to Perdido Bay ER and saw Dr. Barkheizen. I had pain in my right back and side that radiates to the front of the stomach. Dr. Barkheizen started a heart work up, because that is a symptom of a heart issue with women. Heart tests came back normal so she said since the tests are fine I don't know what could be causing the pain so we are going to send you home. I asked could it be a kidney stone or appendix issue, she said no because you don't hurt that way. Kidney stones do cause back pain. She would not even do a scan to check my kidneys or anything else. Just sent me home with the same pain I had and still have!! SHE DOES NOT KNOW WHAT SHE IS DOING!!!

Went to ER with extreme right side back pain that radiates to the front. Dr. Barkhuizen treated me for a heart attack. My heart was fine, so that wasn't the problem. I told her that I had a kidney stone years ago that the doctor said I would probably not have any problems with it. But now I have this extreme pain in the kidney area and she did not even do a scan. Sent me home with the same pain I went there for!!!

This doctor was very rude. I got barely any info from this doctor, I wouldn't have even known that I broke my back if the nurse didn't tell me. It's not the nurses job to tell the patient their back is broken, it's the doctors job. I could have left the hospital without ever knowing I had broken my back if it wasn't for the nurse. Everyone else would get 5 stars, but if I go back I will be sure to steer clear of this Dr. She stormed out of the room as i was talking to her.
