List of Covenant Care Center For Hospice Care At West Florida Hospital's Reviews
A young lady came to our bed in the ICU at WF Hospital. She was tiny, sweet, gentle, kind and identified herself as being from Covenant Care. 3-of us were on our 3rd day of devastation watching my 43-yr son who had incurred a massive stroke continue to decline. Parents are "not supposed to" lose their children. We had already lost one. Compassion and empathy are to me, among the most amazing and noble qualities of humanity. Not all possess and few exude these characteristics. Those that do, I call Angels. This young lady along with a couple of Dr's and a small gathering of ICU nurses came together to "genuinely" care for my son, share our pain, wipe our tears, give us hugs and worked to help. There are, decisions to be made. Uncertain if our son would quality for a hospice program we were soon "blessed" with admission. If there is such thing as a "good" death and there is, I now know it is. I held my son of 43-years in my arms, tears as spigots, struggling to breathe and babbling how much I love him as this small group of humanity allowed my boy to pass in a warm, loving and dignified environment. I could not possibly recommend a more valuable group of souls to care for those who are dying. We all die. It's only a question of when and how. If you are blessed enough to find a way to have this organization help you, then you best Thank God! Bob Howard Milton, FL
The three nurses at the desk were the nicest, most helpful ladies. Even made motel reservation for me and called taxi. I was there late afternoon 3-30-22.
I feel so bad for people who have to deal with hospice and have bad experiences because it's at a time that they really don't need any more stress. Having said that, we had a horrible experience 11 years ago with hospice and my mothers death. The idea of dealing with hospice when my dad had a stroke was terrifying. We took a chance with Sacred Hearts Covenant Care. Let me say...Thank you God. They were absolute angels. Losing a parent is hard enough but the nurses my dad had over a 4 day period made it as bearable as possible. They were so caring, so helpful, and so thoughtful. I literally can't say enough good things about them. My siblings realize how fortunate we were because we have had the other extreme. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Covenant Hospice.
I just can't say enough about Covenant Hospice care. they made us feel like family. Excellent Staff, Excellent Facility.! God bless them all.
Dennis is an angel walking and working here on earth! He was 1 of my mother nurses during her short stay in Hospice. The entire staff was loving, warming and very attentive to my mother needs. I am so thankful I chose this place during this difficult time in our lives.
We are on our second day of ya'll care it has been wonderful thank you for everything. Friend of a patient
My mom recently passed in Covenant Hospice at WFH. Everyone was super sweet and mom liked them all... but she LOVED Nurse Dennis. Thank you all for taking such good care of mom!! ❤️
in response to Carrie's review.... I'm sorry you had such a negative experience but its important to remember how unpredictable death is. I have had a lot of experiences with multiple hospice centers and have watched many patients die. sometimes the patient seems close to death and the family is told by seasoned physicians that there are hours left only to have the patient recover and continue to live for days or weeks or months. there are also times where a patient appears to.be doing well and then rapidly declines and dies within a day. no human can predict death 100% of the time. so Carrie....I know it was an inconvenience to have to move your father multiple times, but maybe you could view it as a blessing to be able to spend a few more days with him. I have seen the dedication and the love that the Covenant Care nurse navigators have for their patients and I would recommend them to anyone.
Dont fall for the speech. Amber come up to the CCU to talk to us about my father , she assesed my Father and had him on bis death bed and said this is where he should be so he is comfortable . So they transfer him to the inpatient hospice and two days later we are told he no longer qualifies because he is not needing much pain medication and his breathing is stable. that he needs to be moved to a nursing home on hospice . Seriously?? Maybe Amber needs to find a new job and stop assessing people , its apparent she does not know what she is doing. To put my Father and my Family through more stress of having to move my Father AGAIN. Completely understand that there is criteria that needs to be met to be inpatient, but this place needs to find a nurse that can do the assessments the right way instead of torturing the families of being bounced around . Totally unacceptable!
The people working for Covenant are extremely sweet and caring. They handled everything we could ask for and more. I made a surprise visit to my grandmother and when I arrived there was a nurse sitting with her comforting her even though she wasn't my grandmother's assigned nurse. They care about keeping people out of pain during their final stages and they always have very good stories to share about the people they've met. I wouldn't have sent my grandmother anywhere else.
