List of David Sheppard's Reviews
Dr. Sheppard failed to contact me to follow up on my severe chronic pulmonary hypertension diagnosis. He merely wrote in the margin of the report to contact him if I had any questions. At that point, I determined that he was too incompetent to be my doctor. I sent the report to my VA nurse who immediately followed up on the life threatening condition, and I ended up receiving surgery at UCSD. I just can't believe some doctors can be so careless about their patients! I canceled all future appointments with Dr. Sheppard.
I made an appointment for my initial visit with Dr. Sheppard because he was listed as a top doctor on Castle Connely. During the first appointment, he appeared to have a good bedside manner though he seemed very rushed. I asked him to send me for a echocardiogram due to having unexplained low blood pressure. He referred me for the test, received the results and mailed them to me in a timely manner. He wrote a side note on the results stating to call him if I had any questions. When I read the report stating that I had severe chronic pulmonary hypertension, I thought,..yeah, I certainly do have questions, but if my doctor isn't competent enough to contact me to set up treatment for something life threatening, I don't believe he's qualified to be my doctor. I sent the report to my VA nurse who immediately jumped into action. I'm sorry thankful for the Pensacola VA. Dr. Sheppard could learn a lot from those nurses and doctors. I received my surgery at UCSD, and I was amazed at how excellent they were as well. Incidentally, Dr. Sheppard also failed to advise my girlfriend that her potassium was critically low, too, and she should have been admitted to the hospital immediately. Needless to say, I canceled all future appointments with Dr. Sheppard.
Dr. Sheppard is awesome, very thorough and considerate. Does not rush you. When ever necessary he always refers you to a specialist so you dont lose time. We always had a very positive experience with him
Dr Sheppard is kind and considerate. Explains in detail your issues and how to best handle them. Never have we ever felt rushed. Excellent doctor!
Doesn’t seem like he can treat anything. He just refers you to other Drs. Useless to go to him
listens to my health concerns and tries to resolve
He listens to you but then he sends you to another Dr. Won't give you medicine that you've had before and need. (Not pain pills) will not phone you in a prescription until you come in even if you were there the week before. All he wants is your money.
Highly recommend him. Very thorough. Does not rush you and listens. Janet , his nurse, is awesome.
Dr, Sheppard cares about his patients and doesn't hesitate to perform the necessary tests to get results to your health issues. Janet is responsive, efficient and very caring. They make a great team with concern for your health.
great doctor , and great man to be around when you need him.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
