List of Don Buckley's Reviews
On my third and final visit to Dr. Buckley, I had had enough of his disinterest and general lack of interaction with me. He does not relate well, does not discuss issues, gives one word or one sentence answers and in general, seems that he is overdue for retirement. When he is finished, he simply walks out of the exam room and you're left guessing if he's actually done with you or not. I had blood work done a week ago and unsurprisingly, they haven't contacted me with results. I'm definitely looking for another MD.
Worst doctor's office I've ever been to if you've never been ghosted try getting a hold of them I ghost you right away worst place terrible terrible terrible don't go there the doctors okay but the fact that he's letting this happen is ridiculous
This is the most incompetent dr office I have ever used. I only began seeing Buckley when my health insurance through work changed and my family Dr was suddenly out of group. Expect to sit an hour after your appointment time between checkin and seeing anyone. Buckley’s office does not call with results for tests, period. It is typical to have to schedule an appointment to ask for results from bloodwork. I still haven’t got answers from my last lab work. Buckleys office cancels script requests from the pharmacy without explanation Or notifications to the patient. . I called Buckley’s office for a script refill 3 days in a row and was given a different excuse everyday before finally being told the pharmacy has to call the dr to refill script. This month, I called the pharmacy to refill my 90 day script and was told the pharmacy has tried to refill twice and was rejected and that I need to call Buckley. I called Buckley Thursday to be told he was on vacation for the week and I would have to schedule a yearly exam next week. Fast forward to today (the following week) and Buckley’s next appointment is now Thursday. I asked if there is anyone that could see me or approve the BP meds until I could be seen and was patronized with Buckley’s requirement for 48hr notice to fill a script. No kidding. I have been on the same BP medicine for over 20 yrs while living in 4 different states and never had such a problem getting a simple BP script filled. Try another office that isnt so overwhelmed/ incompetent. Expect fast food service and quality at Dr Buckley office
***This negative review is not about Dr. Don W. Buckley and EVERYTHING to do with office staff*** Just an American citizen (Veteran/Retired Corrections Officer) looking for a PCP I am a veteran who uses Tricare and like most veterans within a certain distance of a military hospital that is the facility chosen for a Primary Care Physician (PCP). Until the advent of COVID 19 I was completely satisfied with the care my family received. Unfortunately COVID 19 has been an eye-opener into the state of our medical community as a nation. We now have a medical system that is entirely hit or miss as to whether your PCP will treat you for such things as an upper respiratory illness early on or you are told to go home until the virus has replicated to such a degree and you are so sick that known early treatments may be useless and death a high probability dependent on age, health, co-morbidities. My military facility will do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for a positive COVID 19 test result. They tell you to go home and if you feel worse to go to an emergency room. Mind you, they do not have an emergency room so you’ll have to go to an outside hospital. I wanted a PCP who was actually going to be a PCP and live up to their HIPPOCRATIC OATH and not play politics with their patients’ lives. So I looked on the Tricare website to find other PCP’s in the area. Of the three options available his office seemed to be not only the best fit but possibly the only suitable choice for various reasons. This is what gets me to Dr. Buckley’s office. I called Dr. Buckley’s office and told them I was looking to change my PCP and did they treat patients for COVID 19 with known prophylaxis treatments for it would not make any sense to switch from the Naval Hospital to their office if they did not. I was told his nurse could answer that and was transferred. The answering machine picked up and I left a message. Did I receive a call back? I most certainly did not. I called again it was a Wednesday and the doctor and the nurse were out. I called back several days later asked to speak to his nurse and was transferred. Again, the answer machine picked up and I left a message. Was there any return call? If you’re following this I’m sure you already know the answer is no! Its days later so I drive 19 miles to Dr. Buckley’s office. I go in and was able to promptly speak with one of the front desk nurses (she said she’s a nurse anyway). I told her my insurance and was looking into changing my PCP. She asked if I had an appointment to which I told her I did not. I asked if I could speak with Dr. Buckley’s nurse and had called and left a message twice before and that I was trying to find out if Dr. Buckley would handle a COVID case differently than my current provider because it made ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE to change PCP’s if he did not. Her attitude became snotty and told me she couldn’t tell me how I would be treated as each case is different. I understand people are different as well as treatments but remember I had been transferred twice before on the phone to HIS NURSE supposedly and she said SHE couldn’t tell me that and they normally don’t transfer these matters. She then asked me if I had a mask because they want them worn in the office. I pulled one from my pocket now realize I’m a bit miffed at this point and said “Ah, more non-science”. Well, Miss Snotty Nurse didn’t like that and needless to say there was not going to be any civilized conversation past this point and her only responses would be SHE didn’t think I would like it there and should look for another provider. So again, this is NOT about Dr. Don W. Buckley who may be the best PCP east of the Mississippi but entirely about his office staff. They are in my experience rude, rough-hewn, and unprofessional.

Dr Don is amazing, been going to see him for the last several years, nothing but the best care ever.
Great Doctor, however, the front office staff is not attentive at all, when u walk in there are 3 windows and they all look away instead of acknowledging you are there. They close the glass window when no one is at it, so you don’t know who is working or not. This happens every time I visit. Idk why people at Doctor’s office treat you so indifferent, I am not a PATIENT, I am a CUSTOMER. My insurance and my co-payment pays for your salary. My insurgence and my co pay pay for the Doctor’s salary. Why do they act like they are above you? The only reason I come here is because Dr. Buckley is so great, and he is the one that takes care of my health, not the office staff.
Dr. Don Buckley, in my humble opinion, happens to be one of the finest Family Medicine practictioners in Pensacola, if not the state/country. Dr. Buckley has been my primary physician for over 30 years and has provided excellent medical care over this 30 year period. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have met Dr. Buckley all those years ago and to have chosen him for my primary physician.
Dr. Buckley is fantastic. He and his staff are always welcoming and friendly. Dr Buckley takes time to answer questions and explain everything.
Dr. Buckley is a good enough doctor BUT THE WAIT! I've been to his office twice and both times I waited over an hour to see him. What is the point of making an appointment? I guess i feel my time is too valuable to wait so long.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
