Patrick Gatmaitan's Online Review Report Card

I don't normally leave a review, but I was very impressed with Dr. Gatmaitan. My mother had a pretty complex procedure last Thursday. He came in and talked to us before the surgery and explained what he would be doing. He called me right after the surgery, to update me and he also let me know my mom would look swollen because of the gas they used which really helped prepare me before I saw her. He also came by the room that afternoon before he left that day to check on her. Also, the nurse said he called during the night to check on her. The next morning, the pain medicine didn't seem to be controlling the pain, so we asked the nurse if he could change the pain medicine. This was Saturday and Dr. Gatmaitan was plaining to go out of town, but he came by the hospital first to check on my mom. After my mom described the area she was having pain, he prescribed her a muscle relaxer. Not only was he very attentive he was very nice and polite, and I would recommend him to anyone.

Was referred by primary care. Didn’t understand why. I just wanted a dietician. Now I know. With my previous stomach issues, I shouldn’t have been a candidate for gastric bypass surgery. He told me lies about the duration of effectiveness, recovery time. Now I am facing all kind of stomach issues and procedures. Called his office with no return calls. Should have expected it when I mentioned Ivwasdissatisfied and the response is you can’t leave.

The doctor himself was extremely friendly and very easy to talk with. He was great at going over my surgery options and explaining everything. My issue is with the office itself. Before my surgery, they were fantastic about returning calls or emails in a timely manner. After my surgery it’s been like pulling teeth to get a response. I spent a month trying to get my meds sent to Express Scripts with absolutely no return emails or calls regarding it whenever I tried to check on status. After a month of trying to get it taken care of I finally sent an angry email that I had 3 days left on my meds before it got submitted but STILL no response. I understand that a doctors office can be busy and hectic but it’s extremely disappointing to go from amazing communication and care to basically none once the surgery is done and insurance has paid out.

My provider sent over a referral to this office. After numerous voicemails and no one answering the phone, I still haven't gotten a call back. I asked my doctor about it, they said there was a note that my insurance wouldn't approve it. So I guess I'm not worth a call back? If I had known their was an insurance issue I would of tried to fix it. When I do I'll go else where

Not only have I lost over 20 pounds in just under 2 months, Dr. Gatmaitan is one of the friendliest physicians around. The prescription injections he has provided me for weight loss really help to curb appetite and cravings. There are men who you'd run through a brick wall for. He, without a doubt, is one of those men.

The man walked into the office and already had a bad attitude. Asked me if my insurance approved my surgery like I knew the medical codes to give my insurance. Spoke to me like a dog. I had to leave before I put him through a wall.

In 2013 Dr. Gatmaitan performed a Cholystectomy on me...then a few months later he performed a Nissan Wrap. He by far is the best surgeon I've ever had in all of my 75 years. Florida certainly has become richer when Dr. Gatmaitan came there to open a practice.

This man has a temper and misguided. Doesn’t even know the responsibilities of his own office. Called his patient a liar talks to his patients like they are dogs and treats his staff like puppets. This man has the common sense of a turtle. He needs to return home.

Dr Gatmaitan was my doctor until he showed his temper for no reason. He barked at me like I was his employee instead of a patient who was paying him then he called his employees in to try to embarrass me. I was one step away from showing him what the military did with his tax dollars. Very unprofessional. Went to a new doctor and when they asked why I wasn't letting Gatmaitan perform my surgery I was happy to tell them.
