Performed surgery on small retinal tear. Vision was worse after the surgery, which I feel he botched. He did not want to see me again after my first follow up appt. Very abrupt personality.Definitely needs work on his people skills.
I was referred to Dr. Tarantola from my retina specialist due to a detached retina in my left eye. Nearly 2 years after flawless scleral buckling surgery, it remains perfect. In my early 40's, I was at risk for permanent blindness before his procedure. I owe my sight and future to Dr. Tarantola and his amazing staff. Would recommend him 100%!

I would give this zero stars if possible.
I've developed several serious eye conditions due to undiagnosed Type 1 diabetes. The damage is done. We moved to Florida from Michigan so I had to find a new team of medical providers. I must have hit pay dirt because every one of them has been superb. Dr. T. told me it's time to start the eye injections. I was extremely anxious, petrified to be honest. He and his staff explained it all and pouf! All done!
Dr Tarantola is the finest Macular Degeneration physician I've been too. I've had MD for over 6 years. I need a shot in my eyes every month. He has always been there for me, and his nurse Terry is fantastic. If problem is on weekend, Terry will see it through and get you seen! I told Dr. T, that if he ever moved, I would move where I could be seen by him. I don't trust anyone else. He has helped keep my vision, and I'm very thankful for that! Thanks Dr. T for all you've done!
Came in to see me on the weekend and saved my vision by treating my torn retina. He was very thorough, answered all of my questions, and the procedure went great. I have now recovered all of my vision over the past month. Thanks Dr. T!
I saw dr Tarantola for my post op as Dr Myeres was unavailable. He was extremely rude. Looked at eye then literally ran out of office. I said "Wait, I have questions". He replied "She can answer your questions ". He was referring to the tech who was inputing my info into computer. I'm pretty sure she was not medically trained to answer my questions. This was worst experience I've ever had with a dr. He spent less than 60 seconds on my appointment. Dr Tarantola needs to learn bed side manners, very rude.
SAW DR TARANTOLA ON MAY 6TH. I WAS NOT INFORMED THAT HE DID NOT WAN'T TO TALK TO PATIENTS IN ORDER NOT TO SPREAD GERMS. I TOLD HIM I WANTED TO ASK HIM A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS ABOUT MY EYE. HE WAS VERY RUDE AND SAID HE WAS NOT GOING TO TALK TO ME. IF HE WAS NOT GOING TO TALK TO ME THEN WHY DID HE TAKE MY MONEY. I WILL NEVER GO TO SEE HIM AGAIN. I THINK THERE ARE MORE CONSIFERATE DOCTORS IS THIS AREA.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
