Zachary Wright's Online Review Report Card

I went to see DR Wright after having received a Cancer diagnosis of Leukemia at the Base. I found him to be both uninformed about CLL in general and very un Empathetic at my concerns! The reason I say uninformed about CLL when I mentioned that my IGVH was unmutated and I had CD38 and Zap 70 positive which are prognostic indicators pointing to poor treatment probability. He said my Unmutated IGVH was a good sign which is incorrect and wrong according to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society findings! That and his lack of empathy towards my near panic was to me telling of his ability to help me manage my disease process! It would have been better had he attempted to to be emphatic perhaps placed a calming hand on my shoulder and said everything is going to be alright this is one of the better cancers to manage successfully, rather than say ( what would you like me to do?) I said I guess nothing. He asked me if I wanted him to follow me I said yes knowing full well that I would not be coming back and I did not want any confrontation at that point so my wife and I left! I will not return!

I was diagnosed with cancer this year and started my chemotherapy treatment in New Orleans. This past week I lost my home in Louisiana as a result of Hurricane Ida. I evacuated to Pensacola and had to find another oncologist quickly in order to keep my chemotherapy treatment on schedule. It wasn’t easy to logistically accomplish this in a short period of time but the people at Ascension Sacred Heart managed to do it. Today I had my first visit with Dr. Wright. HE WAS AMAZING!! As a retired registered nurse I am very familiar with healthcare systems and health care providers. I can say sincerely and honestly that Dr. Wright couldn’t have been more compassionate and thorough. He reviewed my medical record and answered all of my questions and concerns. He was very familiar with my type of cancer and even discussed my prognosis. He was able to get my chemotherapy orders expedited and assured me that I would receive the quality care I expected. Too often our doctors and healthcare professionals get unfair reviews online and people who have good experiences with them don’t bother to acknowledge it. The most important thing I can say about Dr. Wright and Sacred Heart is that I trust them. They literally have my life in their hands and I feel confident they are going to do everything they can to take care of me and treat me with the dignity and respect all patients deserve.

I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Lymphoma the summer of 2020. I was referred to Dr. Wright from the women’s center. Never needing an oncologist before, I was clueless as to what was going to happen or what the process would be. Dr. Wright took the time to explain ever step and every medication that was going to come my way. He never rushed me thru my appointment (still doesn’t) or made me feel like my concerns were trivial. I am currently undergoing immunotherapy with him and he is still a huge help! I would greatly recommend him to anyone going thru this process!!
