Update! Almost 3 yr later, pain is unbearable.doctors at Shands in Gainesville cannot fix damage. I had laminectomy and spinal fusion surgery over..The pain is terrible now where i had no back pain at all before surgery, just butt and leg pain...did not need spinal fusion!!! Then medical records were doctored by his PA to cover up problems which is a felony...getsee if damage he did can be fixed...have found many others that are in same position.Beware

I had a tumor wrapped around my sciatic nerve in my spine causing excruciating pain. I am very grateful that Dr. Alexander Poisik inspired a great deal of confidence in me when I first met him. If it was not for the expertise and knowledge of Dr. Poisik, I may not even be walking today. He is a skilled surgeon and he is surrounded by a very superb professional and caring staff. Dr. Poisik has excellent bedside manner and takes time to listen and clearly explain the medical condition and the procedure that will be performed. Dr. Poisik is definitely a five-star physician and I highly recommend him to anyone in need of such a major and critical surgical procedure as spinal surgery. Manuel Garrido

I am blessed that I chose Dr. Poisik to do my back surgery. It was a complicated surgery to remove a Neurofibroma in my spine that was wrapped around my Sciatic Nerve and I was suffering from excruciating pain. The surgery was a complete success and I was able to get up and walk the very next day.

Dr. Poisik and Aungelique J Bolderson PA, provided exceptional care and precision on my subdermal hematoma that saved my life. The surgical incision was done with such care it was hidden in my hair line. Not only did they save my life, they saved my self image. Aungelique's care in removal of the Staples was done with such care it was immensely appreciated both with their work and my previous healthcare done at a less than ideal location. They answered my thousand questions and their patience and care set a new bar for my healthcare experience. I feel truly blessed.

I am a Bahamian, who was in transit after the Christmas Holiday. I took ill and had to have an emergency procedure performed within Twenty Four (24) hours, on my Nerves and Spine. Not knowing all the details of what I was facing, the procedure was a success and I am progressively recovering and thank God I am doing 100% better.

After I allowed Dr. Poisik to perform surgery on me for lumbar fusion, I became 1000x worse. My pain increased; my mobility decreased. I had an infection, and my life was ruined. I wish I never let him touch me. I cannot stress enough to other people who are thinking of letting Poisik operate on them, but to stay clear of this doctor. I read a few other patient reviews and comments who had the same type of horrible outcome. Go somewhere else. He is not great, he is terrible. He does not seem to care too much. No one wants to express their negative outcome. But I must. It is the only way people do not suffer unnecessarily for life. I take no pleasure writing on my experiences and how my life changed for the worse.

Been dealing with chronic back pain and numbness throughout my leg and foot for the last year. I was advised by my pain management doctor that nothing else could be done to see a neurosurgeon. I was the doctors last patient of the day the doctor spent 5 minutes with me but will bill for 45 minutes and basically told me it was all in my head it’s just inflammation that will correct itself and to go back to my pain management doctor. So I have had inflammation for a entire year and 6 months that’s progressively getting worse, yeah no. No real answers or solutions to my problem, made me feel as if I was wasting his time. Didn’t even bother to look at my documents I brought. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anyone. Sadly seeing another woman have a similar experience as myself says alot. Poor patient care!

I couldn't have a better neurosurgeon to deal with a messed up L3-L5. Highly qualified and detailed in every patients needs. Has a support team that moves the details of everything requires to include pre op testing, schedules, post operation and follow up. Staff is not only well qualified but friendly at every call. Dr. Poisik is a highly skilled doctor with a wonderful "bedside" manner and an extremely helpful staff. I'm still in the initial recovery period after extensive cervical spine surgery and so looking forward to my continuing improvement under his care.

Dr. Poisik is knowledgeable, skilled, personable and a wonderful, caring surgeon. My recovery from extensive cervical spine surgery is going better than expected. I'm so pleased with all my dealings with Dr. Poisik and his staff!!!
