I recently had a stent in my right artery. As a result, my life changed overnight. I went from taking no meds to taking Plavix, Metropolol, Rovustatin and a baby aspirin daily. Although, I was very thankful to have s second opportunity at life, the side affects from the meds made me feel awful. I felt like I was dying. I made several attempts to reschedule my post Cath visit at Cleveland Clinic in Weston to a sooner appointment but that was to no avail. I visited my PCP at the Krupa Center at Cleveland Clinic Weston and she basically told me to deal with it. Finally, the side affects from the meds caused me an ambulance ride and overnight stay at Cleveland in Weston (note the staff at Cleveland is wonderful with the exception of Dr. Newberry the emergency room doctor, who has the bedside manner of a chainsaw). At Cleveland I was told that my side affects were brought about by my anxiety. I pleaded for help but was discharged and sent home with the same meds. During, all this commotion I remembered being at Dr. Chandy's office for a brief moment prior to receiving the text stating that I had to rush to the ER room due to my blockage. In that short time I was not able to meet Dr Chandy but his nurse, Joyce displayed so much knowledge and compassion. It definitely left an imprint in my mind. So I called Dr. Chandy and he was able to see me on the same day that I called. A visit to Dr Chandy's office is not met with a state of the art facility. But, what you do get is a Dr and a nurse with years of experience and a ton of knowledge who are willing to listen and treat the symptoms. The bedside manner displayed by Dr Chandy during the first five minutes of my visit, confirmed that he would be my cardiologist. Dr Chandy took his time to explain every detail of the heart and how my symptoms and the relationship to my issues. There was no stone unturned. He was honest, extremely knowledgeable and sympathetic. Dr. Chandy not only gave me back my life. He saved me thousands of dollars in wasted visits to the ER and my PCP. I only wish I had gone back to see him first after the Cath. But life has it's reason and a full circle brought me back to him. Dr. Chandy, if you are reading this I want you to know how thankful I am to you. I wanted to give you the biggest hug after my visit with you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Joyce, thank you for the kindness and empathy you shared. I really needed it. To all who are reading this, do not judge a book by its cover. OMG, best cardiologist doctor ever. If you are really in need of seeing a cardiologist do not hesitate to go to him. He will take his time with you, explain everything each question you have in details. He will give you confidence. Have great bed side manners. You'll be in and out. He's not afraid to tell you exactly what the issue is and he's very knowledgeable. He doesn't always go with what the pharma world is saying. He makes his recommendations on results, not marketing, and for that, I am very happy with him. He's been my favorite doctor.
