This is good doctor He saved my life He will listen to you and treat you accordingly.
Amazing doctor ! The staff is extremely unprofessional and unorganized every time my mother needs an appointment or a procedure it's always a run around so she is always pushed back for anything ranging from appointments, medicine or a referral the staff members that pick up the phone has attitudes always! these are sick patients looking for understanding and treatment not to be treated badly by the staff .I think that's the office manager is not aware of what happens behind those door or its over looked because ion the amazing service provided by dr Shankar I will follow up with HCA as this is an ongoing problem that needs to be addressed .
Dr. Shankar Is A Really Great Doctor He Knows His Business. I And My Husband Will Always Be His Patient. Thank You Dre. Shankar!
Saw Dr. Shankar for a Colonoscopy Screening. First visit went okay. Office needs updating badly. Doctor was nice. Set appointment for the procedure. Showed up at the hospital after doing the horrible prep to the sign in nurse telling me he cancelled. What? They said they called me, but couldn't leave a message. What? You have my home number (machine works), my cell (you could text me also) and my work number. As of today it's been 3 weeks since that day and I have YET to get an apology or a phone call. No one followed up. Found out he was hospitalized the day before my procedure. Nothing against him, but the office has never reached out to me.
I saw Dr. Shankar while I was in the hospital and his care was really good and he answer all my questions very well. I tried multiple times to make an appointment to see him after I was out of the hospital but his office staff is garbage. No joke I have called over a dozen times and the same girl answers the phone and she always ends the call the same way "I will call you back with your appointment" never to be heard from again and if you tell her no the phone goes dead. I've had to move on to another office which is a shame since I did have hope to continue service with Dr. Shankar.
Don’t judge a book by its cover ! His office appearance has nothing to do with his medical treatment of patients. Believe me I have been to modern offices with magazines and keurig coffee machines and the Doctor would stair at the floor while talking to me if I ever saw him. Usually had his assistants treat me. Kept sending me for X-rays and blood tests that had already been done. I had agonizing pain and couldn’t walk and was told to come back next week!! Dr Shankar listens to everything you have to say and answers all questions thoroughly!! Would not go see anybody else. I moved to North Broward and still make the drive to his Plantation office and will continue to do so. I first saw him in Broward General. Had several surgeries there 20 years ago. Was in pain a few years ago in his office and he immediately called Westside Hospital and had me admitted for emergency surgery. His knowledge in his field is immeasurable and far more important than an updated office!!
Dr. Shankar is a caring, understanding, thorough and skilled physician! I have Hemophilia A so I have to be admitted to the hospital and stay 3-4 days just for a colonoscopy and endoscopy! This takes a lot of coordination and extra time that slot of doctors done want to take, but knowing my case, he has NEVER hesitated or worried a out the large amount of time he has to take to care for me in a thoughtful and safe manner! That's rare nowadays when slot of doctors watch the clock instead of listening to the patient! His staff can be short and are very busy and the wait to be seen can be up to 30 min, but that's because he takes as much time as a patient needs and he will do the same for you! So...do yourself and your well being a favor and see him for any GI needs! Your body, soul and mind will appreciate it! I wish you all good health and happiness in the holiday season, 2020 and beyond!!!

This is from a fellow MD. He's the best in town.
I have been Dr Murali Shankar's patient for many years . He is really smart and can diagnose complicated cases. Once when I was sitting in the waiting room this patient with cyclical vomitting syndrome or some such thing told me that Dr Shankar is one of the few experts on this condition and gasteroenterologists from Universities actually refer complicated cases to him . He is extremely caring , always returns his calls and shows up when you need him the most . God bless him is all I can say.

Selection Criteria
All the information you see here is based on our analysis of internet reviews across the seven major review platforms most used by consumers during their healthcare provider selection. The platforms we selected are Google, WebMD, Yelp, HealthGrades, Facebook, RateMDs, and Vitals. The analysis algorithm uses the compiled data of average score, recency of reviews, number of reviews, and the sentiment expressed in the written comments. It then assigns weight to each parameter based on the available research on how consumers use reviews in their doctor selection process. This report is designed to help identify the doctors with the best overall review score in an area and does not reflect the doctors' competence.
