I have been a patient here for 5 years. All the Doctors, Nurses, Certified Nursing Aids, Technologists, Clerical, Food services and even housekeeping staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I would never go anywhere else for cancer care and have referred friends and family here.

Over 20 Minutes On Hold For Arrival Specialist, No One Ever Answered on English Phone Line or Spanish Phone Line. Huge Facility and only One Person at front dest to assist with check inn process. Director MD for UM for Hematology and Oncology Had My Mother waiting over 40 minutes to be seen In A Box and Examination was Not correct in My professional Opinion as she pulled a Curtain Around My Mother And RN Nurse Was Not present during examination, or myself But RN was Busy At The Computer. I am Extremely disappointed with treatment at Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center In Plantation Fl. From Arrival To Departure I could Say They have a lot to learn on professionalism and respect for peoples Time, and No Compassion at all on individual's Journey. Expectations Have Been Very Very Disappointing.

Very busy, over an hour past appointment time. This is good if doctors won''t rush the care you receive.

Practically impossible to contact Dr Alves nurse to ask for a prescription that they forgot to order after my last visit. Called several times and I was transferred to wrong departments. Finally I could talk to a Supervisor or Manager "Maritza" and she said she will try to get somebody from Dr Alves to call me back. Lots of time lost plus frustration. No good.

Worst hospital. Not even the miami location is any good. Watch out for these cancer dr's. Especially certain ones who even after yrs of follow up Miss a diagnosis and it turns deadly. Why? Neglect and pure ignorance. How can a Doctor who is an oncologist not know how cancer spreads and not warn you of a possible metastisis? Why do they not do the proper image tests to avoid a cancer from spreading before it happens? Why do they not educate their patients and explain what could happen if proper imaging is not done? Beware of these and other oncologists and radiologists ay sylvester. Dont just be a statistic. Be a cancer survivor and do your research. Second opinion always!!!

Major delays getting crucial records

I've unfortunately had a terrible experience getting medical records from Sylvester and UM Health. It is resulting in a significant delay looking at clinical trials for my mom and getting her disability payments. It is a sad sign of how little they care about patients.

All I wanted was a little information on financial help from this facility and they gave me the run around had me on hold for ever, no one said more than 3 words to me and continued to place me on hold. Horrible costumer service.
